Godofredo “Pepey” Castro vs Milton “Miltinho” Vieira

Round 1:
Vieira landed a hard kick to the liver in the early goings and Castro answered with a jab and a one-two. He connected with a nice right hand that stunned Vieira, but Vieira recovered and took Castro down. Vieira struck from the top with punches and elbows. More big elbows scored for Vieira and he postured up to avoid a triangle choke.

Castro tried for an ankle lock in a scramble and the fighters stood. Time was called after Vieira was kicked in the groin. Action resumed and Castro landed short knees in a clinch, but Vieira slammed him to the mat and took his back on the way up. Castro circled away and countered a spinning wheel kick with two lunging hooks. Close round. 10-9 Vieira.

Round 2:
Vieira caught a kick and took Castro down in round two. Castro used a Kimura to sweep into mount and he took Vieira’s back. Castro worked for rear-naked chokes and landed punches to try to soften Vieira up. He stayed on Vieira’s back all the way until the bell. 10-9 Castro.

Round 3:
The fighters stood and traded punches and leg kicks in the final round. Vieira connected with a solid right hook and Castro walked forward with a one-two and a leg kick. Vieira stunned Castro with a right hand and a flying knee. Vieira pulled Castro to the mat with a Kimura and wound up on top in Castro’s guard. Referee Mario Yamasaki brought the fighters back to their feet and Vieira promptly took Castro back down. Vieira struck from the top and maintained top position until the end of the fight. 10-9 Vieira.

Winner: Godofredo Castro by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 9-1-0.

 

Ronny Markes vs Andrew Craig

Round 1:
Craig staggered Markes early in the fight with two counter hooks, but Markes managed to clinch and backed him up to the cage. Markes tripped Craig and took his back as Craig stood up. Markes picked Craig up and dumped him to the mat. He moved to the back and worked to secure a rear-naked choke, but Craig defended. Markes landed hammerfists in the final seconds. 10-9 Markes.

Round 2:
Markes took Craig down again in round two and moved to half-guard. Markes worked to set up a Kimura and Craig powered out. He stood up against the cage and the fighters were separated after a stalemate. Little transpired before the bell. Lacklustre round. 10-9 Markes.

Round 3:
Markes clinched early in round three and worked for another takedown. Craig finally broke free of the clinch with a standing elbow and Markes circled on the outside. Craig landed a right hand that dropped Markes and he swarmed with punches and elbows on the ground. Craig tried to move to mount and scored with more elbows. A fatigued Markes got back to full guard and Craig battered him until the final 30 seconds. The fighters stood and Markes took Craig down momentarily. 10-9 Craig.

Winner: Ronny Markes by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 14-1-0.

 

Nik “The Carny” Lentz vs Diego “The Gun” Nunes

Round 1:
After an exchange of leg kicks, Lentz landed a right hook and clinched. He took Nunes’s back and briefly took Nunes down. Nunes stood and Lentz took him back down. Lentz flattened Nunes out and landed punches, but Nunes managed to battle back to his feet. Lentz brought him down again and punched from a partial mount. He took Nunes’s back in a scramble and landed more punches. Lentz struck from the top until the bell. 10-9 Lentz. Close to a 10-8.

Round 2:
Lentz opened round two with leg kicks and he took Nunes down seconds later. From the top, Lentz landed hammerfists and short elbows. He kept Nunes pinned down and landed more strikes while looking to set up a Kimura. Nunes gave up his back and Lentz continued to land punches. Nunes finally stood in the final 20 seconds and dropped Lentz to his knees with a counter hook just before the bell. 10-9 Lentz.

Round 3:
The fighters traded knees in round three and Nunes landed a nice combination. He avoided a takedown, but Lentz shot in for another attempt. He got Nunes down and landed punches and elbows. Nunes scrambled up and was promptly taken back down again. Lentz landed in mount and struck from the top until Nunes rolled and stood up. Nunes landed a knee and rocked Lentz with a flurry, but Lentz recovered and took Nunes down in the final seconds. 10-9 Lentz.

Winner: Nik Lentz by Unanimous Decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-28) after three rounds. He improves to 25-5-2, 1 NC.

 

Edson Barboza vs Lucas “Mineiro” Martins

Round 1:
Barboza scored with hard kicks to the leg and body in the opening minute, but one kick struck Martinz in the groin and time was called. The fight continued and Barboza landed a short right hook. More right hands connected for Barboza and he mixed in leg kicks. Martins walked right into a counter left from Barboza that wobbled and dropped him. Barboza dove in with punches until Martinz tapped out.

Winner: Edson Barboza by Submission (Punches) at 2:38 of round one. He improves to 11-1-0.

 

Iuri “Marajo” Alcantara vs Pedro “The Rock” Nobre

Round 1:
Alcantara landed a body kick in the opening seconds and time was called after he was kicked in the groin. Action resumed and Nobre landed a counter right hook. The fighters traded punches and Alcantara countered a takedown with a Kimura. He nearly finished the fight with the Kimura, but Nobre held on and Alcantara transitioned to back control. He landed punches and elbows, but one strayed to the back of the head.

Alcantara continued to strike until time was called. Nobre complained of strikes to the back of the head and stayed down for quite some time. Replays showed that only one strike landed to the back of the head. Nobre could not continue and the fight was waved off.

Result: No Contest (Strike To The Back Of The Head) at 2:11 of round one. Alcantara is now 27-4-0, 1 NC, while Nobre moves to 14-1-2, 1 NC.

 

Ildemar “Marajo” Alcantara vs Wagner “Caldeirao” Prado

Round 1:
Prado opened the fight with body kicks and punches. He landed big left and right hooks and Alcantara clinched. Prado broke away and Alcantara landed kicks to the upper body. Two knees scored for Alcantara and Prado landed a right hook to the midsection. Prado fought through Alcantara’s body kicks and landed more looping hooks. Alcantara took Prado down and Prado held on for a standup. Prado landed punches and a knee that hit after the bell. 10-9 Prado.

Round 2:
The second round began with an exchange of hooks and Alcantara took Prado down. He escaped a guillotine choke and tried for a Brabo Choke, but Prado scrambled and took top position. Alcantara countered with an ankle lock and transitioned to a kneebar. Prado initially fought it off, but Alcantara adjusted position and wrenched back on Prado’s leg until Prado verbally submitted.

Winner: Ildemar Alcantara by Submission (Kneebar) at 2:39 of round two. He improves to 18-5-0.

 

Francisco “Massaranduba” Trinaldo vs C.J. Keith

Round 1:
Trinaldo closed in early on with an overhand left and clinched. Keith tried to counter a takedown, but Trinaldo took his back and suplexed him to the mat. He moved to mount and landed punches, but Keith swept into Trinaldo’s guard. Trinaldo attacked with an armbar and a Kimura, but Keith punched free and the fighters stood. Trinaldo took Keith down and avoided a Kimura attempt. He got back to mount and landed hammerfists as the bell sounded. 10-9 Trinaldo.

Round 2:
Trinaldo landed a hard left hand in round two and ducked under a head kick. He suplexed Keith on his head and locked on an arm-triangle choke from the top in half-guard. Keith tried to hold on, but he could not and was forced to tap out.

Winner: Francisco Trinaldo by Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) at 1:50 of round two. He improves to 12-2-0.
