Yves “Thugjitsu Master” Edwards vs Jeremy “Lil’ Heathen” Stephens

Round 1:
Edwards landed a body kick early on, but Stephens caught it and tripped him to the mat. Stephens landed right hands as Edwards stood up. Edwards walked forward with a winging right hook and Edwards dropped him face-first with a counter right. Stephens was in all sorts of trouble and Edwards knocked him out cold with elbows on the ground.

Winner: Yves Edwards by KO (Punches & Elbows) at 1:55 of round one. He improves to 42-18-1.

 

Raphael Assuncao vs Mike “The Hulk” Easton

Round 1:
Quick leg kicks were exchanged early on and Easton landed a nice one-two. Easton remained the aggressor, but Assuncao landed a counter left hook and avoided a spinning back kick. Easton ducked under a head kick and flurried with punches that missed their target. Assuncao threw a spinning back kick of his own and landed a right hook just as Easton connected as well. Assuncao clinched and pressed Easton up against the cage. He landed knees until the fighters were separated. Razor-thin round. 10-9 Assuncao.

Round 2:
Assuncao attacked with head kicks in round two, but Easton wisely ducked under each one. A spinning backfist partially landed for Assuncao and he followed with an uppercut. Easton replied with two hooks in close, but Assuncao landed a punch to Easton’s eye that caused him some discomfort. Assuncao missed with a spinning hook kick and the fighters teed off in a brief exchange.

Assuncao clinched and landed a knee that struck Easton in the groin. Time was called, but action soon resumed and Assuncao landed a counter one-two. He followed with more punches and a leg kick. A front kick to the face backed Easton up momentarily and Assuncao stuffed a takedown attempt. He missed with a spinning backfist in the final 15 seconds. 10-9 Assuncao.

Round 3:
Assuncao ducked and countered Easton’s punches with quick left and right hooks in round three. Easton walked forward with kicks and Assuncao countered nicely with one-twos. He shot in for a takedown and Easton defended. Assuncao tripped Easton for a split second, but Easton stood and landed a right hand. Assuncao ducked under a lunging hook and attempted another takedown.

Easton showed much-improved takedown defence and stayed on his feet. Assuncao backed away and landed a counter hook as Easton pressed forward. Assuncao dove in for a takedown and Easton again stayed up. Assuncao circled out again and landed a counter body kick and a left cross. Neither fighter was able to land anything cleanly in the final 30 seconds. 10-9 Assuncao.

Winner: Raphael Assuncao by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 19-4-0.

 

Ramsey Nijem vs Joe Proctor

Round 1:
Nijem landed a hard body kick early on and clinched, but Proctor countered with a guillotine choke. He landed a knee to the chest and the fighters exchanged big power punches. Nijem landed a knee and backed away. A flying front kick to the body sent Proctor to the mat and Nijem swarmed with punches. Proctor began to bleed from the mouth as Nijem peppered him with more punches.

Nijem took Proctor’s back and tried to move to mount, but Proctor scrambled to his feet. He worked for another guillotine choke and Nijem took him down. Proctor rolled through to escape and got back to his feet. More hard punches were exchanged and Proctor rocked Nijem with a counter left-right combo. Proctor landed short punches from half-guard. Close round. 10-9 Nijem.

Round 2:
Proctor opened the second round with another one-two and both fighters landed left hooks at the same time. Nijem countered a two-punch combo with a right hook and a leg kick. Nijem landed right hooks and mixed in more kicks from a distance. A hard right hand scored for Proctor and Nijem shot in for a takedown. He got Proctor down and worked from the top.

Proctor postured for a triangle choke from the bottom and kicked as Nijem stood up. Proctor scrambled into a front choke and used it to pin Nijem up against the cage. He tried to move into mount, but Nijem defended. Proctor maintained his grip on Nijem’s neck until Nijem escaped in the final 20 seconds. Proctor eyed a Kimura before the bell. Another close round. 10-9 Proctor, barely.

Round 3:
Nijem landed some nice punches in the first 30 seconds of round three. Proctor answered with a right hook and countered a takedown with a Kimura attempt. Nijem escaped and tried to move to mount. He punched to the body and transitioned to Nijem’s back. Proctor stood and Nijem dumped him back down to the mat again. Proctor scrambled back up and sprawled out of a takedown.

Proctor took Nijem’s back and tried to spin into an armbar. He nearly got it, but Nijem held on and broke Proctor’s grip. Nijem punched from the top and kept Proctor pinned down against the cage. Proctor managed to sprawl out once more and landed weak punches to the side of Nijem’s head. The fighters stood and traded punches. Nijem landed a hard knee and Proctor answered with two big hooks. 10-9 Nijem.

Winner: Ramsey Nijem by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 7-2-0.

 

Daron “The Detroit Superstar” Cruickshank vs Henry Martinez

Round 1:
Martinez clinched and backed Cruickshank up to the cage. A stalemate ensued and the fighters were separated. Both landed hard punches and Cruickshank scored with a knee to the body as Martinez pushed him up against the fence again. Cruickshank landed a standing elbow and Martinez flurried with punches. Cruickshank landed a hard combination and just missed with a spinning hook kick.

Martines began to bleed from the forehead and Cruickshank hurt him with a series of kicks to the body. Cruickshank swarmed with punches and knees, but Martinez somehow survived. He answered back with punches of his own and Cruickshank backed up. In the final minute, Cruickshank threw a spinning hook kick to the body. He badly rocked Martinez with a head kick, but Martinez recovered again and the round ended with an exchange of power punches. 10-9 Cruickshank, if not 10-8.

Round 2:
Cruickshank countered a clinch with knees and punches in round two. Martinez remained aggressive and pushed forward with a combination. The pace began to slow, but the fighters continued to trade punches and Cruickshank kicked at Martinez’s midsection. Martinez landed a nice one-two that backed Cruickshank up momentarily. Seconds later, Cruickshank landed a devastating head kick and Martinez dropped like a rock. The fight was immediately stopped.

Winner: Daron Cruickshank by KO (Head Kick) at 2:57 of round two. He improves to 12-2-0.

 

Abel “Killa” Trujillo vs Marcus “The Prospect” LeVesseur

Round 1:
LeVesseur ducked under a punch and shot in for a takedown right away. He suplexed Trujillo to the mat, but Trujillo battled back to his feet against the cage. Trujillo landed knees in the clinch and the fighters were separated. A lead left hook scored for Trujillo and LeVesseur took him back down. Trujillo stood and LeVesseur took his back.

Trujillo turned into the clinch and threw knees to the body. He followed with one to the upper chest and hurt LeVesseur with elbows to the sides of the face. Referee Anthony Hamlett separated the fighters and Trujillo dropped LeVesseur with a knee as LeVesseur rushed forward. Trujillo landed more elbows on the ground until the end of the round. 10-9 Trujillo.

Round 2:
Trujillo landed a counter hook early in round two and locked on a standing guillotine choke. LeVesseur spun to try to escape and wound up in a North-South Choke on the ground. LeVesseur scrambled up to his feet and Trujillo dropped him with another counter hook. He landed punches from LeVesseur’s guard until LeVesseur used the cage to stand up.

LeVesseur tried for a takedown, but Trujillo stuffed it against the cage and landed a hard knee to the body of a kneeling LeVesseur. Trujillo landed more knees and kept LeVesseur pinned down on the ground. After a final barrage of knees, the bout was finally waved off.

Winner: Abel Trujillo by TKO (Knees To The Body) at 3:56 of round two. He improves to 10-4-0.

 

Dennis Siver vs Nam Phan

Round 1:
Siver opened the fight with a series of leg kicks and he followed with one-twos. A right hand wobbled Phan, but he recovered quickly. Siver landed a spinning back kick and more punches. He remained very aggressive and he continued to mix up his strikes. Another kick to the body scored for Siver and he began to throw punch-kick combos.

Siver landed leg kicks and followed with a front kick to the face. He kept up a very fast pace with his offence and eventually shot in for a takedown. Phan stuffed it, but Siver landed a left hook on the way up. Phan finally began to throw kicks of his own as Siver slowed down slightly, but Siver landed another spinning back kick in the final seconds. 10-9 Siver.

Round 2:
Siver landed quick punches and leg kicks in the second round, but Phan tagged him with a hard counter hook. Siver resumed kicking at Phan’s legs and body. He used front kicks to the face to keep Phan guessing and just missed with a spinning back kick. Siver took Phan down and landed elbows from half-guard. More punches and elbows scored for Siver and Phan could not scramble out. Siver moved to side control and briefly to mount before the bell. 10-9 Siver.

Round 3:
Siver countered a looping hook with a takedown early in round three. He resumed striking from the top and tried to pass to mount. Phan managed to retain half-guard, but Siver punished him with elbows and a series of left hands to the face. Siver landed punch after punch and elbow after elbow from the top. Phan could do little to defend other than hold on. Siver struck until the end of the fight. 10-8 Siver.

Winner: Dennis Siver by Unanimous Decision (30-24, 30-25, 30-26) after three rounds. He improves to 21-8-0.

 

Scott “Young Guns” Jorgensen vs John “Prince” Albert

Round 1:
Jorgensen shot in for an early takedown and got Albert down. He held him there until Albert used an impressive sweep to transition straight to Jorgensen’s back. Jorgensen scrambled out and landed elbows from the top. Albert countered with a tight triangle choke and Jorgensen appeared to be in some trouble. He sat down to try to escape the choke and then switched to a kneeling position.

Albert let go of the choke and Jorgensen promptly attacked with elbows from side control. Albert tried unsuccessfully for an inverted triangle choke and managed to get back to half-guard. Albert attempted to sweep, but gave up his back in the process. With ten seconds to go, Jorgensen locked on a rear-naked choke and flattened Albert out. Albert tapped out with one second remaining in the round.

Winner: Scott Jorgensen by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 4:59 of round one. He improves to 14-6-0.
