Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard vs Fabricio “Morango” Camoes

Round 1:
The fight began with an exchange of leg kicks and Guillard stuffed a takedown with a hard left hand. Camoes briefly tripped Guillard to the mat, but Guillard stood and punched free of the clinch. Guillard caught a kick and flurried with punches, but Camoes broke free. He tried to pull Guillard into a leg submission.

Guillard stood up and scored a takedown of his own. Camoes swept and took Guillard’s back. He moved to mount and rained down elbows. Guillard escaped to his feet and cracked Camoes with a counterpunch as Camoes threw a spinning back kick. Guillard finished the round strong with punches from the top. Very close opening stanza. 10-9 Camoes, just barely.

Round 2:
The second round began with cautious strikes from both fighters and neither appeared to be willing to commit to anything. A spinning hook kick grazed Guillard’s chin and Camoes dropped levels for a takedown. Guillard defended, but he was very briefly taken down. Back on the feet, Camoes landed two lunging hooks and clinched.

Camoes took Guillard down, but could not keep him there. Guillard stood and Camoes threw a spinning back elbow. He fell in the process and Guillard punished him with big punches and elbows from the top in the final 15 seconds. 10-9 Guillard due to the late rally.

Round 3:
Little transpired in the opening stages of the final round. The fighters threw occasional leg kicks and Guillard landed a left hook. The action remained sparse as neither fighter connected with anything. Camoes finally landed a leg kick and a right hook. He dropped down for an ankle pick and Guillard countered with punches. Camoes shot in for another takedown and got it. He transitioned to a kneebar attempt, but time expired. 10-9 Camoes.

Winner: Melvin Guillard by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 53-11-3, 1 NC.

 

Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov vs Gleison Tibau

Round 1:
Both fighters struggled to find their range in the opening 90 seconds. Nurmagomedov threw a kick to the upper body and dove in for a takedown. Tibau stayed on his feet and avoided two looping hooks. He landed a knee to the body and Nurmagomedov pressed him up against the cage. Knees were exchanged and the fighters were separated. Nurmagomedov fired off wild punches, but most missed and Tibau cracked him with a counter hook. Relatively uneventful round. 10-9 Tibau by a slim margin.

Round 2:
Tibau scored with a hard counter left one minute into the second round. He stuffed a takedown and landed a knee. Tibau scored a brief takedown and landed a combination as Nurmagomedov stood. Nurmagomedov clinched and landed a combination over the top. Little transpired in the final minute until a left hook from Tibau set off an exchange that saw Nurmagomedov land a knee and a right hand. 10-9 Tibau.

Round 3:
Nurmagomedov landed a leg kick and clinched in round three. He landed a combination and Tibau took him down. Tibau moved to back control, but Nurmagomedov stood and pressed Tibau up against the fence. Tibau circled out and avoided Nurmagomedov’s wild punches. Nurmagomedov finally landed a right hook and Tibau answered right back with a short uppercut. A left hook and a knee landed for Tibau before the final bell. 10-9 Tibau.

Winner: Khabib Nurmagomedov by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 18-0-0.

 

Constantinos “Costa” Philippou vs Riki Fukuda

Round 1:
Fukuda landed leg kicks early on and stayed out of range of Philippou’s counterpunches. Fukuda dropped levels and took Philippou down to a knee against the cage. Philippou stood and broke away. Both fighters landed right hooks and Philippou appeared to get the better of the exchanges. Fukuda answered with a left cross, but Philippou landed one of his own. Fukuda finished the round with leg kicks. Close first round. 10-9 Philippou.

Round 2:
The second round began with an exchange of hooks and Fukuda tried to close the distance. He attempted a takedown, but Philippou stayed on his feet. Punches were exchanged in a clinch and Philippou broke away with a standing elbow. Fukuda landed a nice left hook that set off an exchange of power punches. A series of body kicks scored for Fukuda and more big punches were exchanged. Fukuda landed a left cross and a leg kick, and Philippou responded with a right hand. He scored with a combination late in the close round. 10-9 Fukuda, barely.

Round 3:
An exchange of hooks led the fighters into a clinch in round three. Philippou circled away and landed a body kick. He fired off a combination and avoided Fukuda’s counters. Fukuda clinched, but he could not get Philippou down. Both fighters landed punches and Fukuda inadvertently poked Philippou in the eye while throwing a body kick. Time was called, but the fight eventually resumed. Philippou was aggressive with punches and stuffed a takedown. Both fighters landed punches until the bell. 10-9 Philippou.

Winner: Constantinos Philippou by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 11-2-0, 1 NC.

 

Shane Roller vs John “The Natural” Alessio

Round 1:
Roller landed early leg kicks and right hands. Alessio countered with combinations, but Roller landed two looping hooks that backed him up. Roller began to mix up his punches by targeting the body and Alessio flurried in close. Time was called after Alessio was kicked in the groin. The fight eventually continued and Alessio threw two jabs and a right hook. Alessio remained aggressive with his punches and he avoided a takedown attempt.

Roller landed an overhand right and followed with a left. Alessio answered with one of his own and the fighters clinched. Alessio looked for a takedown, but could not get it. He punched to the body and landed a knee, then backed away. Big punches landed for both fighters and Alessio dropped Roller in the final seconds. He ended the round on top in side control. 10-9 Alessio.

Round 2:
Alessio countered a leg kick with a right cross in round two. He backed Roller up and landed a left hook, then took him down. Roller countered with a guillotine choke and Alessio scrambled out. Roller picked Alessio up and slammed him down to the mat. Roller moved to half-guard and scored with elbows as he pinned Alessio up against the cage.

Alessio tried to scramble to his feet and Roller took his back. Alessio defended well initially, but Roller managed to flatten him out and briefly locked on a body triangle. Roller continued to strike from the top with punches and elbows and looked to set up a rear-naked choke in the final 20 seconds. 10-9 Roller.

Round 3:
Alessio flurried with big punches to open the final round and Roller appeared to be wobbled. He recovered and the fighters briefly clinched. Roller drove forward for a takedown and got it. Alessio tried for a guillotine choke, but let it go. Roller postured up and threw elbows, but Alessio pushed off and got back to his feet against the cage.

Roller tripped Alessio to the mat once again and transitioned to back control. He landed short punches and Alessio tried to counter with back elbow strikes. Roller secured a body triangle and worked for a rear-naked choke and then an arm-triangle choke. Alessio escaped and swept into top position, then rained down punches for the final few seconds. 10-9 Roller.

Winner: Shane Roller by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 11-6-0.

 

Rafaello “Tractor” Oliveira vs Yoislandy “Cuba” Izquierdo

Round 1:
Izquierdo landed a combination and a knee to the body early on and Oliveira answered with a kick to the chest. He countered a kick from Izquierdo by taking him down. Oliveira passed to side control and looked to set up a submission, but Izquierdo defended well from the bottom.

Oliveira attempted a keylock and Izquierdo escaped. He stood and landed a knee and a left hook. Oliveira answered with a body kick. Izquierdo countered a takedown by rolling through and landing a knee. He followed with left hooks before the bell. Close opening round. 10-9 Oliveira.

Round 2:
Izquierdo opened the second round with a lead right hook and Oliveira responded with a head kick. Izquierdo followed with a knee and a combination, but Oliveira took him down. Oliveira began to bleed heavily from the forehead, but he passed to side control and once again looked to set up an arm submission.

Oliveira tried for a far-side keylock, but Izquierdo easily escaped and time was called to check Oliveira’s cut. Action resumed on the ground and both fighters landed short elbows. Oliveira attempted to trap Izquierdo in a top-side crucifix and then postured for another keylock. He landed elbows in the final 20 seconds. 10-9 Oliveira.

Round 3:
The final round began with a combination and a head kick from Izquierdo. Oliveira took him down and punched from the top in full guard. Izquierdo answered with short elbows from his back and he looked to set up a triangle choke. Oliveira passed to side control to escape and then to North-South position.

Oliveira returned to side control and threw elbows. He targeted Izquierdo’s arm once again for a keylock, but had no success and Izquierdo tried to scramble to his feet. Oliveira kept Izquierdo pinned down and eventually secured a top-side crucifix. He landed punches and elbows for much of the final minute. 10-9 Oliveira.

Winner: Rafaello Oliveira by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 15-5-0.
