“The Handsome Executioner” Xian Ji vs Leonard “The One” Delarmino

Round 1:
Ji landed a right hook and scored a takedown into mount. He transitioned to the back and tried for an armbar, but Delarmino escaped and struck from the top. He tried for a guillotine choke, but Ji countered with one of his own. Delarmino eventually managed to escape and fought out of an arm-triangle choke from the bottom seconds later. Ji worked for an armbar and Delarmino slammed out.

The fighters stood and Delarmino landed a knee. He countered a takedown with a guillotine choke. Ji scrambled, but wound up in an arm-out inverted triangle choke. Ji pulled his head free and landed hammerfists. Two hard punches scored for Ji and Delarmino gave up his back. Ji quickly secured a rear-naked choke and Delarmino was forced to submit with mere seconds remaining in the opening round.

Winner: Xian Ji by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 4:52 of round one. He improves to 7-0-0 and wins the Century Cup.

 

Michael “Mick” Mortimer vs Taiyo Nakahara

Round 1:
Nakahara landed a leg kick and scored a takedown right into North-South position. He took Mortimer’s back and nearly finished him with a rear-naked choke, but Mortimer managed to escape. Nakahara scrambled around and attempted a series of submissions including another rear-naked choke. Mortimer wound up on top and landed punches. Nakahara landed a body kick from the ground to a standing Mortimer and followed with two upkicks.

The fight returned to the feet and Mortimer tweaked his knee while throwing a kick. He fell to the mat and Nakahara landed a series of hammerfists, but many of them struck Mortimer in the back of the head. Referee Warren Wang warned Nakahara, but he continued to hit the back of the head. Wang stopped the fight and disqualified Nakahara.

Winner: Michael Mortimer by DQ (Illegal Strikes) at 4:24 of round one. He improves to 16-4-0.

 

Koji Ando vs Damien “Beatdown” Brown

Round 1:
Brown landed hard leg kicks and right hands early on. Ando answered with leg kicks of his own. The fighters traded punches and Ando countered a takedown by securing back control. Ando locked on a reverse triangle choke and Brown tapped out.

Winner: Koji Ando by Submission (Reverse Triangle Choke) at 2:27 of round one. He improves to 6-3-2.

 

Mark “Mugen” Striegl vs Ev Ting

Round 1:
Striegl landed a body kick and scored a takedown in the opening seconds. He moved to half-guard, then rolled to his back with a guillotine choke. Ting stood and landed a rushing kick to the body, but Striegl swept and wound up on top. Ting tried for an armbar and Striegl countered by taking his back. He attempted a series of rear-naked chokes and landed punches to the sides of Ting’s head. Striegl locked on another choke and Ting refused to tap out, so he was rendered unconscious.

Winner: Mark Striegl by Technical Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 3:51 of round one. He improves to 7-0-0.

 

Agustin “Demolisher” Delarmino Jr. vs Ming Yen “Sam” Sung

Round 1:
Sung caught a body kick early on and clinched for a takedown. Delarmino defended and stayed on his feet. He landed a huge left hook that floored Sung and followed with one more punch on the ground for good measure.

Winner: Agustin Delarmino Jr. by KO (Punch) at 0:44 of round one. He improves to 5-1-0.
