Shooto Women’s Super Atomweight Champion Satomi “Sarami” Takano makes her second Rizin FF appearance on November 6th at Rizin Fighting Federation: “Landmark Vol. 4” in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan. Takano will face PAWFC strawweight champ Maria Laura Alves Fontoura in a 49kg matchup.
Rizin FF officials announced the bout today. Takano captured the Shooto 110-pound title this past November by defeating Mina Kurobe in a trilogy fight. Fontoura claimed her PAWFC title in January by submitting Andy Nguyen at the inaugural PAWFC event. Both seek a first Rizin FF win.

Invicta Fighting Championships held its latest all-female fight card tonight at Sugar Creek Casino in Hinton, Oklahoma. Invicta FC 49 was headlined by an Invicta FC Atomweight Championship bout between reigning champion Jéssica Correa Delboni and challenger Jillian “Lionheart” DeCoursey.

Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Champion Seika Izawa kept her perfect MMA record intact with a second-round submission win tonight at Rizin Fighting Federation 38 in Saitama, Japan. Izawa defeated Anastasiya Svetkivska in the co-main event to advance on to the 49kg grand prix final.
The Izawa-Svetkivska match was one of two women’s super atomweight grand prix semi-finals on tonight’s card. In the other, South Korean rising star Si Woo Park earned her biggest victory to date by defeating former champion Ayaka Hamasaki. Park has won all three of her Rizin FF bouts.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada today for UFC Fight Night 210: “Sandhagen vs Song.” The card was headlined by a bantamweight clash between Cory “Sandman” Sandhagen and Yadong “Kung Fu Kid” Song, as both looked to enter title contention.

Teen standout Moeri Suda gained a measure of revenge in her main event victory today at Deep Jewels 38 in Tokyo, Japan. Suda avenged the first loss of her pro career by defeating the previously unbeaten Aya Murakami to potentially set up another shot at the Deep Jewels atomweight title.
Suda was not the only fighter who scored a big win on the Deep Jewels 38 card. In the 49kg co-main event, Namiko “Hime” Kawabata tallied her fourth win under the Deep Jewels banner by destroying veteran Yuko Kiryu in just 37 seconds. The quick defeat snapped Kiryu’s five-fight winning streak.

Semi-final matchups in the Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Grand Prix are now official for Rizin Fighting Federation 38, which takes place on September 25th in Saitama, Japan. Unbeaten champion Seika Izawa will face Anastasiya Svetkivska, who steps in for an injured Rena Kubota.
Svetkivska re-entered the tournament after it was determined that Kubota, who sustained a fractured left orbital wall during their quarterfinal bout in July, would not be cleared to compete. In the second grand prix semi-final matchup, former champion Ayaka Hamasaki will take on Si Woo Park.
