Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight GP winner Kanna Asakura is set to make her return to action on October 24th at Rizin Fighting Federation 31 in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Asakura faces off against two-division Deep and Deep Jewels champion Saori Oshima in a featured 49kg matchup.
Rizin FF officials announced the bout earlier today. Asakura had her four-fight winning streak snapped in March when she was narrowly defeated by Ayaka Hamasaki in a title rematch at Rizin FF 27. Rising star Oshima became a double champ for Deep by winning two fights at Deep Jewels 33.

UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina “Bullet” Shevchenko’s reign of dominance continued with her latest successful title defence tonight at UFC 266: “Volkanovski vs Ortega” in Las Vegas, Nevada. The champ scored a fourth-round stoppage of “Lucky” Lauren Murphy in the co-main event.
Tonight’s card featured two additional women’s flyweight bouts. Former 115-pound titleholder Jéssica “Bate Estaca” Andrade stopped Cynthia Calvillo late in the first round of their main card fight, and rising star Taila Santos outpointed 44-fight veteran Roxanne “The Happy Warrior” Modafferi.

In a rematch almost nine years in the making, Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Champion Ayaka Hamasaki scored her second victory over friend Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino tonight at Rizin Fighting Federation 30 in Saitama, Japan. Hamasaki outpointed Fujino in a non-title 49kg bout.
Just as she did in the pair’s first matchup in December 2012, Fujino rallied late in tonight’s rematch, but it was not quite enough to seal a victory for the Pancrase champ. Earlier on the card, kickboxing sensation Rina “Panchan” Okamoto stayed unbeaten by defeating veteran Momoka Mandokoro.
