Jewels Featherweight Queen Semi-Final Matchups SetThe semi-final matchups in the inaugural Jewels Featherweight Queen tournament are now set. A drawing held following tonight’s Jewels: “16th Ring” event in Tokyo, Japan determined the second-round pairings for the tournament, which concludes at Jewels: “17th Ring” on December 17th.

In semi-final one, unbeaten rising star Naho “Sugi Rock” Sugiyama faces 2010 Jewels 48kg Rough Stone Grand Prix Champion Kikuyo Ishikawa. Veterans Misaki Takimoto and Yukiko Seki square off in semi-final two. The tournament will determine the first Jewels Featherweight Queen Champion.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira To Face Tito Ortiz At UFC 140Antonio Rogerio “Minotoro” Nogueira will join his twin brother, Rodrigo, on the upcoming UFC 140 card. Nogueira will battle “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz on December 10th at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. UFC officials confirmed the bout on Friday night.

Nogueira and Ortiz were originally scheduled to face each other in March, but Ortiz was forced to withdraw after suffering a cut in training. Nogueira won his first two fights in the Octagon after making his long-awaited UFC debut, but has dropped two straight. Ortiz is 1-1 so far this year.

Jessica Penne Upsets Rena Kubota At Shoot Boxing: "Act.4"Bellator veteran Jessica Penne scored a significant upset this evening in her shoot boxing debut in Tokyo, Japan. Penne earned a Majority Decision win over promotional postergirl Rena Kubota after a pair of extension rounds in a razor-thin bout at Shoot Boxing: “Act.4” at the famed Korakuen Hall.

After three back-and-forth rounds where both fighters landed solid strikes, Kubota looked to take control in the first extension round, but the bout was again ruled a Draw. In the fifth and final round, Penne earned a Shoot Point for a high-arc throw and that was just enough to win on two scorecards.

Holly Holm Stops Jan Finney At Fresquez Productions: "Clash In The Cage"Standout boxer Holly “Hottie” Holm picked up her second mixed martial arts win tonight at Fresquez Productions: “Clash In The Cage” in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Holm stopped former Strikeforce title challenger Jan “Cuddles” Finney with a kick to the body in the later stages of the third and final round.

Widely seen as the top pound-for-pound female boxer in the world, Holm debuted in MMA with a second-round TKO victory in March and took a big step up in competition against Finney tonight. Keeping the fight on the feet, Holm was able to outstrike the veteran before finishing her off with the kick.

Three Undercard Bouts Complete Jewels: 16th Ring CardThree amateur bouts have been added to the undercard of this Saturday’s Jewels: “16th Ring” event in Tokyo, Japan. The all-female card now includes an MMA rematch between Tamaki Usui and Nana “Chanchin” Ichikawa, who first faced off in July. Usui won the pair’s first bout in just 14 seconds.

Also announced were two Under-15 kickboxing tournament matches. In one, 12-year-old “Muay Thai Genius” Saya Ito returns to Jewels to face Ryouka, while former M-1 40kg female champion Miiri Sasaki looks to rebound from an August defeat when she makes her Jewels debut against Chihiro Imoto.

Nick Diaz Back On UFC 137 Card, Now Faces B.J. PennAs quickly as he was removed from the UFC 137 card, Nick Diaz is back on. The outspoken former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion will now battle “The Prodigy” B.J. Penn at the October 29th event in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC President Dana White confirmed the news earlier this evening.

Yesterday, White announced that Diaz had been removed from the UFC 137 main event against Georges “Rush” St. Pierre for failing to show up to a pair of mandatory press conferences. White said that Diaz could not be trusted, but he nevertheless added Diaz back to the card’s co-main event today.
