Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz was arrested earlier this morning on charges of felony domestic violence that allegedly involves his girlfriend, Jenna Jameson. TMZ.com first reported on the developing story, which stems from a 911 call from Jameson’s father that cited a disturbance at Tito and Jenna’s Huntington Beach, California home.
The celebrity news site has since posted a video of a tearful Jameson, who states that she will be pressing charges against Ortiz. UFC President Dana White told TMZ that the fighter may be fired if proven guilty.

As a result of an injury suffered in training, undefeated rising star Kerry Vera has been forced to withdraw from her upcoming Strikeforce Challengers 8 bout with Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen” Peña. MMAFighting.com first reported on the fight’s cancellation and Peña will no longer compete.
The nature of Vera’s injury was not disclosed, but it is serious enough to keep her off of the May 21st event. Peña, who was set to make her Strikeforce debut in the 135-pound matchup, will now be forced to wait before stepping into a Strikeforce cage for the first time.

Picking up another impressive first-round victory, Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson stopped Japanese veteran Masako Yoshida in the first round of their fight tonight at Crowbar MMA: “Spring Brawl.” The win was Waterson’s second in a row since a loss to former SNMMA champ Elena “Babydoll” Reid just over one year ago.
Waterson, who recently dropped down in weight from 115 pounds, handed Yoshida just the second TKO loss of her 38-fight career. Waterson has now won five of her last six fights, with all coming by stoppage.

Keeping her undefeated record intact, rising featherweight prospect Shana “Rock Solid” Olsen picked up a hard-fought decision over women’s MMA pioneer Yoko Takahashi tonight. The back-and-forth bout was featured as part of an excellent Cage Fighting Xtreme: “Mayhem In Minneapolis” card.
Olsen, who had been tentatively set to make her Strikeforce debut one week ago, will no doubt attract the attention of Strikeforce management with another quality win. She had all she could handle against Takahashi, but showed significant progress and improvement in the fight.

The UFC’s first card in Boston, Massachusetts could feature a blockbuster light heavyweight bout. Fighters Only Magazine first reported today that a fight pitting legends Randy “The Natural” Couture and James “Lights Out” Toney is in the works for UFC 118 on August 28th.
Rumours have circulated for weeks that listed Couture as Toney’s first opponent in his UFC (and MMA) debut. The 41-year-old Toney, who signed with the UFC in early March, is one of the most decorated boxers in the sport’s history and has held numerous titles throughout his career.

A lightweight title eliminator between Kenny “KenFlo” Florian and Gray “The Bully” Maynard has been signed for the main card of UFC 118 in Boston, Massachusetts. Florian, a Boston native, confirmed that the bout was set during an episode of MMA Live this evening.
UFC 118 will be the promotion’s first card in the state and is tentatively set for August 28th. It is expected to be headlined by a UFC Lightweight Championship rematch between Frankie “The Answer” Edgar and “The Prodigy” BJ Penn. Florian and Maynard would battle to face the winner.
