In a bout with major title implications, former PRIDE standout Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum will meet Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in a featured heavyweight fight on the main card of Strikeforce: “Fedor vs Rogers” on November 7th.
The event will air live on CBS and already features a Strikeforce Middleweight Championship bout between Jake Shields and Ronaldo “Jacaré” Souza and a heavyweight main event between “The Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko and Brett “The Grim” Rogers.
While an opponent is not yet known, new Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Gegard “The Dreamcatcher” Mousasi will be competing on the televised portion of the upcoming November 7th Strikeforce: “Fedor vs Rogers” card on CBS.
Mousasi recently withdrew from the DREAM Super Hulk Tournament in Japan due to injury so that he could focus all of his efforts on defending his Strikeforce title, but his November 7th bout will be a non-title affair.
After injuring her shoulder during the recent Abu Dhabi World Submission Grappling Championships, where she placed third place in her division, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos has confirmed that she will not be a part of the upcoming November 7th Strikeforce: “Fedor vs Rogers” event on CBS.
It is unclear whether a women’s bout will still be a part of the card, but it appears unlikely. Santos will aim to return to competition before the end of the year.
Showcasing many of their top stars and attractions, DREAM crowned its first Featherweight Grand Prix Champion at Heiwa Dream.11, while Joachim Hansen and Shinya Aoki battled for the Lightweight Championship in the co-main event rubber match.

In a last-minute addition to tomorrow’s card, Japanese legend Kazushi “The Gracie Hunter” Sakuraba has been added to Heiwa Dream.11 and will face professional boxer Rubin Williams, who is making his mixed martial arts debut.
The bout will be Sakuraba’s first since dropping a Unanimous Decision to fellow Japanese star Kiyoshi Tamura over nine months ago at K-1 Dynamite!! 2008 on New Year’s Eve.
Friday night featured the return of Maximum Fighting Championships for MFC 22: “Payoff,” which saw local star Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald come up short in his bout with Travis “The Serial Killer” Lutter.
