With its first series of collectible UFC figurines set for a February release, Round 5 MMA today revealed the lineup for UFC Series 2. Among those in the second series are past and present UFC champions BJ Penn, Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin.
Also part of Round 5’s latest wave of figurines are British standout Michael Bisping and former street fighter Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson. The Markham, Ontario-based company is planning to release UFC Series 2 figurines in the second quarter of 2010 at leading retailers.

Strikeforce will showcase a number of new faces on January 30th when the promotion travels to Sunrise, Florida for Strikeforce: Miami. Former DREAM Lightweight Champion Joachim “Hellboy” Hansen may become the promotion’s first two-division champion. The Norwegian standout is rumoured to be dropping down in weight to challenge Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes for the DREAM Featherweight Championship at Dream.13. FiveOuncesOfPain.com first reported on the planned bout.
Hansen captured DREAM title gold in the finals of the DREAM Lightweight Grand Prix when he dispatched of Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki. He lost the title in a rubber match with Aoki at Dream.11 in October.

With just eight days to go, Bobby “The Dominator” Lashley finally has a confirmed opponent for his Strikeforce debut at Strikeforce: Miami on January 30th. The undefeated Lashley will battle three-time UFC veteran Wes “A Whole Show” Sims in a featured heavyweight bout. The promotion confirmed the news today.
Sims was last seen as a contestant on Season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter reality show, but he was defeated in the preliminary rounds. The bout with Lashley will be Sims’s first pro fight in over a year.

Sengoku Middleweight Champion Jorge Santiago will return to action at Sengoku Raiden Championships 12 on March 7th in Tokyo, Japan. The Brazilian standout will defend his title in a rematch with Poland’s Mamed “The Cannibal” Khalidov. KSW first reported on the bout earlier today.
Khalidov upset Santiago with a first-round TKO at Sengoku: “Eleventh Battle” in November, but the first meeting was a non-title bout and Santiago escaped with his belt despite the loss. Santiago’s title will be on the line at SRC 12 when he faces Khalidov for a second time.

Former PRIDE Lightweight Champion Takanori “Fireball Kid” Gomi will not have an easy fight in his Octagon debut. The former #1-ranked lightweight is expected to battle two-time title challenger Kenny “KenFlo” Florian in the main event of UFC Fight Night 21 on March 31st.
The bout would be Gomi’s first on U.S. soil since his bizarre and controversial PRIDE 33 war with Nick Diaz in 2007. Gomi has won four of six fights since then and will immediately be matched up against tough competition in the UFC as he aims to capture title gold once again.
