More Fights Added To December UFC 124 CardBrazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts Jim and Dan Miller will both compete at UFC 124 on December 11th. The New Jersey-based brothers will face Charles “do Bronx” Oliveira and Joe “El Dirte” Doerksen, respectively, as part of the event as the UFC returns to the Bell Centre in Montreal, Québec, Canada.

Jim has won five straight fights inside the Octagon and finds himself on the brink of lightweight title contention, while middleweight brother Dan picked up a much-needed victory over John Salter at UFC 118. The win stopped a three-fight losing skid that had put Dan’s UFC status in jeopardy.

Edgar-Maynard, Carwin-Nelson Set For UFC 125Two headlining bouts are official for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s New Year’s Day event on January 1, 2011. Frankie “The Answer” Edgar will defend the UFC Lightweight Championship in a rematch with unbeaten top contender Gray “The Bully” Maynard in the night’s main event.

Also announced today was a heavyweight bout between former UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Shane Carwin and final IFL Heavyweight Champion Roy “Big Country” Nelson. The two fights join a lightweight clash between Takanori “Fireball Kid” Gomi and Clay “The Carpenter” Guida.

Jewels Lightweight Queen Semi-Final Matchups SetFollowing Sunday’s “Tenth Ring” event in Tokyo, Japan, a random drawing was held to determine the semi-final matchups in the inaugural Jewels Lightweight (115-Pound) Queen Tournament. The semi-finals and final will both take place at Jewels: “Eleventh Ring” on December 17th.

Returning to Jewels after a contract disagreement, South Korean standout Seo Hee Ham will face Jewels postergirl Mika “Future Princess” Nagano in one semi-final, while Ayaka Hamasaki takes on Sakura Nomura in the other. The December event will also conclude the 2010 Rough Stone Grand Prix.

Evan Dunham vs Kenny Florian Agreed For UFC 127After suffering a controversial Split Decision loss to Sean Sherk at UFC 119, Evan Dunham will have an even tougher test in his next fight. As reported this evening on MMA Live on ESPN2, Dunham and former title challenger Kenny “KenFlo” Florian have verbally agreed to square off in early 2011.

Fury 2 Cancelled Amidst Embezzlement AllegationsA mixed martial arts event scheduled for this Saturday in Macau has been cancelled amidst allegations that the promoter has embezzled nearly $13 million in Hong Kong currency. Damien Roche, the promoter and former Director of the Kontact MMA Training Center in Hong Kong, is in hiding.

Fighters scheduled to compete on the card, including Strikeforce signee Carina “Beauty But The Beast” Damm, were stranded in Macau after it was discovered that all hotel rooms and return flights had been cancelled. The fighters are now pursuing alternative means of returning home.
