Heather “Hurricane” Clark needed less than two minutes to earn a dominant submission victory over late replacement opponent Avery “Psycho” Vilche tonight at XFC 18: “Music City Mayhem” in Nashville, Tennessee. Clark secured a rear-naked choke that forced an overmatched Vilche to submit.
It was Vilche who opted to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard in the early goings, but the decision proved to be her undoing. Clark easily avoided an armbar attempt and passed to mount, where she flurried with punches until Vilche gave up her back and succumbed to the choke.

After an impressive victory in April, Felice “Lil’ Bulldog” Herrig returns to the XFC cage at Xtreme Fighting Championships 19: “Charlotte Showdown” on August 3rd in Charlotte, North Carolina. Herrig faces off against England’s Simona Soukupova. The 115-pound bout was announced by Herrig today.
Herrig enters the fight after earning a dominant Unanimous Decision win over “Little” Patricia Vidonic at XFC 17 on April 13th. The talented striker has won six of her past eight. Soukupova opened career with a pair of TKO triumphs in 2010 and now looks to rebound from her first professional loss.

“Muay Thai Genius” Saya Ito added another impressive win to her 84-fight kickboxing record on Sunday night at Shobukai: “Muaylok 2012 – 2nd” in Tokyo, Japan. Ito defeated fellow 13-year-old prospect Yukari Yamaguchi via a razor-thin decision after two action-packed and competitive rounds.
Ito, who often competes against male opponents due to a lack of high-level competition in the junior girls’ division, had a tough fight on her hands on Sunday. Her wealth of experience showed in round two, however, and she kept the aggressive Yamaguchi at bay with kicks to take the close victory.

Fresh off of a first-round TKO win tonight in Poland, Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya will compete again in just three weeks when she faces Danielle “The Curse” West at Starlight Events: “Gladiator World Cup 2012.” The event takes place on July 6th in Marbella, Spain. West replaces an injured Stacy Hayes.
Kunitskaya has won six straight fights since her lone defeat and she made quick work of Sylwia Kusiak tonight at “Baltic Arena” in Koszalin, Poland. Six of the Russian prospect’s wins have come via knockout. West has also maintained an active schedule and looks to rebound from a loss in April.

Top flyweight prospect Jessica “Evil” Eye faces one of her toughest tests to date at North American Allied Fight Series: “Rock N Rumble 6” on August 17th in Cleveland, Ohio. Eye will battle veteran contender Angela Magana in the night’s main event, which will be contested at 125 pounds.
