Yukari Yamaguchi Turns Pro, Faces Megumi Igawa On June 22Three days after she celebrates her 16th birthday, highly-touted prospect Yukari Yamaguchi will make her professional kickboxing debut at J-Girls: “The Shining Wild Angels 2nd” on June 22nd in Tokyo, Japan. Yamaguchi faces veteran Megumi Igawa in a 105-pound mini flyweight bout on the card.

Yamaguchi, the younger training partner of Deep Jewels and Invicta FC star Mizuki Inoue, has torn through the competition in the amateur ranks and she brings an eight-fight winning streak into her pro debut. Igawa put an end to a tough losing skid by winning her most recent kickboxing match in February.

Saya Ito vs Haru Tajima Announced For Tenkaichi 71 In OkinawaMere weeks after winning her long-awaited pro debut, 15-year-old “Muay Thai Genius” Saya Ito returns to the ring on May 18th at Tenkaichi 71 in Koza, Okinawa, Japan. Ito is set to face off against former J-Girls Mini Flyweight Champion Haru “Taj Mahal” Tajima in a three-round bout.

Ito captured numerous titles during her 93-fight amateur kickboxing career, which included more than 40 fights against male opponents. She won her pro debut on April 27th. Tajima became the first J-Girls Mini Flyweight Champion in 2008 and now competes for the first time since late 2010.

Sarah Moras vs Alexis Dufresne Booked For TUF 19 FinaleTUF 18 semi-finalist Sarah “Cheesecake” Moras is set to make her official UFC debut on July 6th at The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale in Las Vegas, Nevada. Moras faces off against unbeaten Octagon newcomer Alexis “Sneaky Zebra” Dufresne in a featured bantamweight bout on the card.

UFC officials confirmed the matchup today following an initial report from MMAFighting.com. Both Moras and Dufresne make their returns to action after recently recovering from injuries. Moras put on a strong showing during TUF 18 and Dufresne most recently demolished Kim Couture in February.

Bethe Correia To Face Shayna Baszler At UFC 176 In AugustFresh off of her win over Jessamyn “The Gun” Duke, Bethe “Pitbull” Correia faces another member of the Four Horsewomen stable on August 2nd at UFC 176: “Aldo vs Mendes 2” in Los Angeles, California. Correia battles veteran submission specialist Shayna “The Queen of Spades” Baszler.

UFC officials announced the bantamweight bout on Monday. Correia earned her second Octagon win this past month when she defeated Duke. Baszler took exception to Correia’s actions after the bout and she requested a fight against the Brazilian. She now faces Correia in her official UFC debut.

Ashlee Evans-Smith vs Marciea Allen Booked For WSOF 10CFA Women’s Featherweight Champion Ashlee Evans-Smith is set to make her World Series of Fighting debut on June 21st at WSOF 10: “Branch vs Taylor” in Las Vegas, Nevada. Evans-Smith takes on Invicta FC veteran Marciea “Black Widow” Allen in a featured bantamweight bout on the card.

WSOF officials confirmed the matchup on Monday. The female fight joins a previously announced strawweight title bout between Jessica “Jag” Aguilar and Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino. Evans-Smith captured the CFA title when she stopped Fallon Fox in October. Allen has won back-to-back fights.
