Two-time Shoot Boxing JKS48 champion Mio Tsumura looks for her third straight victory when she returns to action on May 24th at “J-Girls X Shoot Boxing” in Tokyo, Japan. Tsumura is set to face Taiwanese boxing gold medallist Kai-Ting “Kill Bee” Zhuang on the co-promoted card.
Tsumura most recently posted an impressive Unanimous Decision win in February. The 20-year-old star now looks to spoil Zhuang’s return to shoot boxing. Also on the card, Erika Maruyama makes her shoot boxing debut against Naoko “Bovy” Okada, who looks to rebound from an August defeat.

After a shaky start to her UFC career, “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings picked up her first victory inside the Octagon tonight at UFC Fight Night 65: “Miocic vs Hunt” in Adelaide, Australia. Rawlings dominated and submitted veteran contender Lisa Ellis late in the first round of a featured strawweight bout.
Rawlings was not the only Australian strawweight to earn an impressive submission win on tonight’s card. In a second women’s bout, Alex “Astro Girl” Chambers rallied back from the brink of defeat and finished Hawaiian prospect Kailin Curran with a slick armbar midway through the third round.

Veteran strawweight contender Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino picked up her third straight victory tonight at Road Fighting Championship 23 in Seoul, South Korea. Fujino edged out 18-year-old late-replacement opponent Jeong Eun Park by Majority Decision in a closely-contested two-round bout.
Also on the card, bantamweight prospect Ji Yeon Kim kept her undefeated record intact with a second-round submission victory over Hatice “The Turkish Delight” Ozyurt in a 139-pound catchweight bout. Kim overcame Ozyurt’s striking power on the feet and finished her with an armbar.

Undefeated Ukrainian prospect Maryna “The Iron Woman” Moroz shocked the MMA world with a huge victory in her Octagon debut on April 11th at UFC Fight Night 64. Moroz vaults up the 115-pound women’s strawweight rankings after submitting the heavily-favoured Joanne “JoJo” Calderwood.
Moroz was not the only female fighter to earn a big win in April. Unbeaten Brazilian rising star Livia Renata “Livinha” Souza captured the Invicta FC Strawweight Championship at Invicta FC 12, and Alexis “Ally-Gator” Davis submitted long-time bantamweight rival Sarah Kaufman at UFC 186.

UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk is set to make the first defence of her title on June 20th at UFC Fight Night 69 in Berlin, Germany. The undefeated Jędrzejczyk faces off against former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion Jessica Penne in the 115-pound main event.
UFC officials announced the change today. UFC Fight Night 69 was initially slated to be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira, but Gustafsson withdrew due to an injury. Penne now steps in to challenge Jędrzejczyk for UFC title gold.

Former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson is set to make her Octagon debut on July 12th at The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale in Florida. Waterson, who is moving back up to 115 pounds, takes on outspoken TUF 20 alum Angela “Your Majesty” Magana.
Long before she captured Invicta FC gold in April 2013, Waterson spent the first two years of her career competing as a strawweight; winning six of her nine bouts. She now makes her much-anticipated UFC debut against the polarising Magana, who looks to put an end to a three-fight losing skid.
