Carlos “Black Jag” Ulberg vs Tafon “Da Don” Nchukwi
Round 1:
Ulberg circled on the outside during the opening minute until he wobbled Nchukwi with a lead left hook. Ulberg immediately swarmed on Nchukwi with more punches and Nchukwi fell to his knees. He tried to get up, but Ulberg sent him back down with non-stop punches and referee Herb Dean stopped the fight.
Winner: Carlos Ulberg by TKO (Punches) at 1:15 of round one. He improves to 5-1-0.
Nuerdanbieke “Wolverine” Shayilan vs “Downtown” T.J. Brown
Round 1:
Shayilan landed a hard left hook early in the fight and that led to an exchange of power punches. Shayilan dropped Brown to his knees with a right hook to the temple and he reversed a Brown takedown into top position soon after. Brown attempted an armbar from the bottom and Shayilan stood up to escape. Brown switched to a calf slicer attempt and Shayilan countered with a kneebar. The fight returned to the feet and Brown landed a body kick. He stuffed a Shayilan takedown and both men landed jabs. Shayilan landed a big right hook, but Brown just walked through it and continued to throw punches. Shayilan took him down against the base of the cage and Brown attacked with a kimura from the bottom just before the bell. 10-9 Shayilan.
Round 2:
In the second round, Shayilan took Brown down and almost got to back control, but Brown regained half-guard and worked for a kimura. Shayilan avoided danger and he tried to take Brown’s back again. Brown scrambled up to his feet and he then secured a takedown of his own. Shayilan sat up against the cage and Brown repeatedly looked to set up a rear-naked choke. Shayilan defended well and he eventually turned into Brown’s guard. Brown went back to hunting for a kimura and then switched to a modified triangle choke. Shayilan punched with his free arm and made it until the end of the round. 10-9 Brown.
Round 3:
An exchange of right hooks opened the final round and Shayilan followed with a one-two. He missed with a spinning backfist but took Brown down into half-guard. Shayilan landed short elbows to Brown’s face and he tried to pass to mount. Brown retained half-guard and then secured a sweep. He alternated between Shayilan’s back and his guard. Shayilan tried to stand up and Brown attempted a rear-naked choke. Shayilan turned into Brown’s guard and then took his back. He also tried unsuccessfully for a rear-naked choke before the bell. Close, back-and-forth round. 10-9 Shayilan.
Winner: Nuerdanbieke Shayilan by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 38-10-0.
Sergey Morozov vs Raulian Paiva
Round 1:
Paiva wobbled Morozov with a right hook to the temple in the opening minute, but Morozon tied him up in a clinch and recovered. The fighters separated and Paiva landed two more right hooks and then a three-punch combo. Morozov answered with two hooks in response, but Paiva remained the aggressor and he landed another combination. A right hook from Paiva caused Morozov’s nose to bleed and the fighters traded more right hands as the round entered its final minute. Morozov landed a right-left combo late in the round, but Paiva backed him up with a hard right hook. 10-9 Paiva.
Round 2:
Early in the second round, Paiva landed a right hook and a knee. Morozov dropped levels and took Paiva down, and he almost made it to mount. Paiva retained butterfly guard, but Morozov moved to side control and he attempted an arm-triangle choke. Paiva turned to his side and escaped, and he got to his feet against the cage. Paiva trapped Morozov in a standing guillotine choke and Morozov had to act quickly to escape. He tried unsuccessfully to take Paiva down until the bell. 10-9 Morozov.
Round 3:
Morozov clinched early in round three and he scored a brief takedown against the cage. Paiva got back to his feet, but Morozov landed a hard left hand as the fighters separated. He followed up with a quick flurry and then sprawled out of a Paiva takedown attempt. Morozov jabbed and Paiva attempted a standing guillotine choke, to no avail. Another combination landed for Morozov and both men tried unsuccessfully to take the other down. After trading body kicks, Paiva finally got Morozov down just before the bell. 10-9 Morozov.
Winner: Sergey Morozov by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 18-5-0.
Cody Durden vs J.P. “Young Savage” Buys
Round 1:
Durden rocked Buys with an early overhand right and he clinched with him against the cage. Buys broke free from the clinch, but Durden hurt him with another right hand and Buys dropped to a knee. Durden landed numerous punches to both sides of Buys’s head on the ground as a dazed Buys tried to get up from his knees. Durden continued to land punches non-stop until the fight was finally stopped.
Winner: Cody Durden by TKO (Punches) at 1:08 of round one. He improves to 13-4-1.
Mario Bautista vs Brian “Boom” Kelleher
Round 1:
Bautista threw an early spinning back kick that was blocked by Kelleher, who circled on the outside. Bautista spun him around with a leg kick and then scored a takedown into side control. Kelleher got back to his feet, but Bautista took him down again and he avoided a Kelleher guillotine choke attempt. Bautista passed to mount and briefly landed punches until Kelleher gave up his back. Bautista locked on a rear-naked choke and Kelleher tapped out.
Winner: Mario Bautista by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 2:27 of round one. He improves to 10-2-0.
Crystal Vanessa “Lil’ Monster” Demopoulos vs Jinh Yu Frey
Round 1:
Frey pawed out with jabs early on and Demopoulos landed a leg kick. Frey cracked her with a hard one-two and she resumed jabbing. Demopoulos countered with a pair of right hooks, but Frey continued to move forward and she landed punches after briefly tripping Demopoulos. Soon after, Demopoulos shot in for a double-leg takedown and she got Frey down. Frey stood against the cage and Demopoulos landed a knee to the body on the break. Frey landed two straight lefts and ate a right hook from Demopoulos before the bell. Close round. 10-9 Frey by a slim margin.
Round 2:
In the second round, Frey jabbed and landed a left cross as Demopoulos kicked to the body. Frey continued to press the action with jabs that bloodied Demopoulos’s nose, but Demopoulos landed an overhand right and she dropped levels for a takedown. Frey stuffed it and stayed on her feet. Demopoulos blocked a head kick and the fighters exchanged right hands. Frey fought off two more takedown attempts and Demopoulos held her in a clinch. She landed short knees to the body and an elbow on the break. Another close round. Again, 10-9 Frey.
Round 3:
Both women landed punching combinations to begin the final round and Demopoulos held Frey in a clinch against the fence. She landed knees to the body until Frey broke free and circled away. She landed two left hooks and then a hard jab as Demopoulos stepped forward. Demopoulos dove at Frey’s ankle, but Frey stayed on her feet and Demopoulos held her against the cage while landing knees to the body. Frey finally broke free with ten seconds to go and the fight ended with an exchange of power punches. 10-9 Demopoulos. Decision could go either way.
Winner: Crystal Vanessa Demopoulos by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. She improves to 8-4-0.
