Dylan “The Villain” Andrews vs Papy “Makambo” Abedi

Round 1:
Abedi looked to close the distance early on with kicks to the lead leg and body. Andrews circled away and pawed out with jabs. Abedi punched his way into a clinch and tried for a takedown against the cage. He elevated Andrews and slammed him down into side control. Abedi tried to move to mount, but Andrews scrambled up to his feet and worked for a standing arm-triangle choke.

Abedi used a leg-sweep takedown to get the fight back down on the mat. As Andrews got to his knees to stand up, Abedi locked on a power guillotine choke. Andrews escaped the submission and got to his feet, but Abedi countered a takedown with a judo throw. He attempted another guillotine choke from the top, but let it go and Andrews secured a takedown in the final seconds. 10-9 Abedi.

Round 2:
Andrews kept his distance and threw single kicks and punches in round two. The crowd became restless with the lack of action and Abedi missed with a lunging hook. Andrews came up just short with a three-punch flurry to the body and head. He took Abedi down for a split second, but Abedi stood and landed a hard right hook. Andrews fell to his back and Abedi struck from the top.

Abedi postured up with punches and short elbow strikes from half-guard. He pinned Andrews against the base of the cage and landed a knee to the body and two big left hands. Andrews tried to stand and Abedi worked for a guillotine choke. He used it to muscle Andrews back down to the ground and moved to side control. Andrews scrambled up and landed an inadvertent knee to the groin just before the bell. 10-9 Abedi.

Round 3:
The final round began with a clinch battle against the cage and neither man could obtain an advantage. Referee Herb Dean separated the fighters and Andrews landed a right hook and a stinging uppercut. A stunned Abedi fell to his knees and Andrews continued to land punches until Abedi lay prone on his stomach and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Dylan Andrews by KO (Punches) at 1:32 of round three. He improves to 17-4-0, 1 NC.

 

Brandon “Rukus” Thatch vs Justin “Fast Eddy” Edwards

Round 1:
Thatch fought off early takedown attempts from Edwards and landed a series of knees and a body kick. A knee rocked Edwards, but he stayed on his feet and continued to work for a takedown. Thatch hurt Edwards again with a head kick and more knees. Edwards fell and Thatch landed hammerfists from the top. Edwards fought back to his feet and Thatch blasted him with more strikes. Edwards collapsed after eating three more knees and Thatch punched away until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Brandon Thatch by TKO (Knees & Punches) at 1:23 of round one. He improves to 10-1-0.

 

Darren “The Damage” Elkins vs Hatsu Hioki

Round 1:
An exchange of left hooks opened the fight and Hioki flurried to the body. Elkins replied with an uppercut and a right hand to the ribs. A combination landed for Elkins, but Hioki backed him up with a counter left hook. Hioki switched stances and threw kicks to the body. He went high with a kick, but Elkins blocked it. He clinched and briefly held Hioki against the fence.

Hioki continued to press the action with body kicks and he followed with a right cross. Elkins put together a three-punch combo, but Hioki hurt him with a liver kick. Elkins dropped down for a takedown and Hioki sprawled. Hioki postured up and tried to move to mount. A scramble ensued and the fighters stood. Elkins tripped Hioki, but Hioki defended with elbows and hammerfists. 10-9 Hioki.

Round 2:
Elkins opened the action in round two with a four-punch flurry. Hioki took him down and moved to side control. Elkins escaped to his feet and landed a knee to the body on the way up. Hioki continued to target the body with knees and kicks. He landed a short counter left hook as Elkins pressed forward. Elkins countered a leg kick by taking Hioki down.

Elkins landed knees to Hioki’s ribs and tried to take his back on the mat. Hioki scrambled, but he wound up on the bottom and Elkins pinned him against the cage. Hioki stood and attempted a kimura. He used it to take Elkins’s back and tried for a rear-naked choke. Hioki wound up on top in mount and he attempted a triangle choke. Elkins fought free and finished the round in Hioki’s half-guard. 10-9 Elkins.

Round 3:
Elkins scored with two quick right hooks in round three. He took Hioki down and worked from his guard. Hioki looked to set up a triangle choke from his back and Elkins punched free. Elkins briefly moved to half-guard, but Hioki regained full guard and tried again for a triangle choke. Elkins avoided danger and he peppered Hioki with short shots as time ticked down. Elkins flurried from the top before the final bell. 10-9 Elkins.

Winner: Darren Elkins by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 17-3-0.

 

Jason “The Kansas City Bandit” High vs James Head

Round 1:
High shot in for an early takedown and fought off a guillotine choke by passing to side control. Head scrambled back to full guard, but High stood over him and scored with two big left hands. Head attempted to get back to his feet against the cage and High locked on a guillotine choke. Head tried to roll to escape, but he was thwarted by the fence. High maintained his grip on the choke and moved to mount, and Head was forced to submit.

Winner: Jason High by Submission (Guillotine Choke) at 1:41 of round one. He improves to 17-4-0.

 

Zak Cummings vs Ben “Benny Blanco” Alloway

Round 1:
Alloway opened the action with a leg kick and he caught a knee from Cummings. Alloway defended against Cummings’s takedown attempts, but Cummings managed to get him down into side control. Alloway scrambled up and both men landed uppercuts. Cummings tried for another takedown and Alloway stuffed it. Cummings was relentless with his takedown attempts and he eventually got Alloway down. Cummings transitioned from side control to Alloway’s back, then locked on a Brabo choke for the tapout win.

Winner: Zak Cummings by Submission (Brabo Choke) at 4:19 of round one. He improves to 16-3-0.

 

“Relentless” Roger Bowling vs Abel “Killa” Trujillo

Round 1:
Huge power punches scored for both fighters right away as they traded hooks in close. An exchange of lead left hooks followed and Bowling picked Trujillo up. He slammed him down, but Trujillo stood and landed a knee. Both men continued to score with hard punches and Trujillo landed another knee to the body. Trujillo tripped Bowling to his knees and landed punches with his free hand.

Bowling scrambled to his feet very briefly, but Trujillo landed right hands and knees. Bowling pulled guard with a guillotine choke and Trujillo had to act quickly to escape. Bowling secured another tight guillotine, but Trujillo fought free and landed a combination and a knee before the bell. Close round. 10-9 Trujillo, just barely.

Round 2:
Bowling worked for a takedown against the cage in round two, but Trujillo broke free of the clinch and landed a nice combination. Bowling responded with a hard leg kick and Trujillo threw knees to the body. Bowling backed him up with an uppercut and followed with a flurry to the body and head. He took Trujillo down and landed a knee as Trujillo stood. Bowling ducked under a left hook from Trujillo and connected with one of his own.

Trujillo began to pick up the pace and he landed a one-two in close. Bowling took him back down against the cage and transitioned to a modified rear-naked choke. Bowling escaped and Trujillo landed a knee to the chest of a kneeling Bowling. A second knee from Trujillo illegally landed to Bowling’s jaw and time was called. Bowling was deemed to be unable to continue and the fight was waved off.

Result: No Contest (Illegal Knee) at 4:57 of round two. Bowling moves to 11-4-0, 1 NC, while Trujillo is now 10-5-0, 1 NC.
