Igor “The Duke” Pokrajac vs Krzysztof “The Polish Experiment” Soszynski
Round 1:
Soszynski landed a quick combination and a stiff jab to open the fight. Pokrajac rocked him with a counter combination and dropped him with more punches against the cage. Pokrajac unloaded with punches until Soszynski was completely unconscious. Brutal victory for Pokrajac.
Winner: Igor Pokrajac by KO (Punches) at 0:35 of round one. He improves to 24-8-0.
Constantinos “Costa” Philippou vs Jared “The Messenger” Hamman
Round 1:
Hamman landed leg kicks early in the fight and Philippou countered with a lead left hook. A one-two landed for Philippou and he scored with a hard left hook as Hamman looked for a clinch. Hamman answered with an uppercut and the fighters separated. A leg kick and a right hook backed Philippou up and Hamman followed with two more kicks. Philippou floored Hamman with a one-two and dropped him again with a right after Hamman stood.
Philippou dove in and tried to finish the fight with punches and a rear-naked choke. Hamman managed to escape and got back to his feet. Philippou dropped him again with punches, but Hamman somehow held on and survived. Philippou stood and Hamman followed. Philippou rocked Hamman with a left and dropped him face-first with a right. The fight was finally stopped.
Winner: Constantinos Philippou by KO (Punch) at 3:11 of round one. He improves to 9-2-0, 1 NC.
Dennis “Superman” Hallman vs John “The Bull” Makdessi
Round 1:
Hallman immediately clinched and tried for a trip takedown to start the fight. Makdessi grabbed the fence, but Hallman got him down anyway. He transitioned to back control and flattened Makdessi out. Hallman landed punches and elbows to the sides of Makdessi’s head and worked for a rear-naked choke. Makdessi rolled over and Hallman punched from mount.
More punches and elbows landed for Hallman and he took Makdessi’s back again. Hallman locked on a rear-naked choke and a bloodied Makdessi was forced to submit.
Winner: Dennis Hallman by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 2:58 of round one. He improves to 67-14-2, 1 NC.
Yves “Tiger” Jabouin vs Walel “The Gazelle” Watson
Round 1:
Watson landed a kick-punch combo early in the fight and avoided a counter left. Jabouin scored with a lead left hook seconds later and sidestepped a spinning hook kick. Jabouin landed a hard right hand and Watson replied with one of his own. Kicks were exchanged and Jabouin ducked under a spinning backfist, then connected with a counter right hook.
The fighters clinched and Jabouin took Watson down against the fence. Watson stood, but ate a knee. Jabouin tried for another takedown, but Watson threw him over his head and the fighters returned to their feet. Watson tried to set up kick-punch combos and just missed with a head kick. Power punches landed for both late in the close round. 10-9 Jabouin.
Round 2:
Jabouin caught a kick from Watson in the second round and landed a right hook counter. Watson backed up, then pushed forward with a Superman Punch and a head kick. Jabouin was unfazed, but Watson stayed active with kicks. He opened up with kicks and right hands that put Jabouin on the defensive. Jabouin landed a right hook in return and followed with a body kick.
Leg kicks were exchanged and Watson missed with a spinning backfist. Both fighters attempted spinning back kicks and missed. Jabouin landed a leg kick, but ate a right hook and a jab in return. Watson pushed Jabouin backwards with a side kick to the body and landed knees in close. A big spinning backfist landed for Jabouin and he took Watson down, but had to fight out of a tight guillotine before the bell. Another close round. 10-9 Watson.
Round 3:
Watson opened round three with jabs and leg kicks. Jabouin landed one kick in return, but Watson continued to mix up his strikes and Jabouin backed up. A side kick to the chest landed for Jabouin and Watson scored with more kicks. Jabouin grazed Watson’s chin with a right hook counter, but found himself on the defensive again after a trio of kicks to the legs and body from Watson.
Jabouin landed one of his best leg kicks of the fight and followed with a front kick to the body. More leg kicks landed for Jabouin and he took Watson down, but Watson scrambled to the top and stood. He moved to half-guard and used elbows to try to set up a Brabo Choke. He secured the choke, but Jabouin managed to free himself after close to a minute. Back on the feet, kicks were exchanged and both landed punches. 10-9 Watson.
Two judges returned 29-28 scorecards, with one each for Jabouin and Watson. A third tallied an unfathomable 30-27 card for Jabouin despite Watson’s clear dominance in the final round.
Winner: Yves Jabouin by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 17-7-0.
Mark Bocek vs Nik “The Carny” Lentz
Round 1:
Bocek closed the distance early on and the fighters traded knees before clinching against the cage. They battled for position and Bocek landed punches and knees to the body. Bocek scored a takedown and easily avoided a guillotine choke attempt. Lentz secured another guillotine and this one was much tighter. Bocek stood up while Lentz maintained the hold and eventually escaped.
Bocek took Lentz back down and the fighters exchanged short strikes on the ground. Lentz continued to look for guillotines and threw elbows from his back. Bocek stood and ate an upkick, but landed punches after settling back into Lentz’s guard. Bocek moved to side control and Lentz answered with elbows. Bocek landed a flurry before the end of the close round. 10-9 Bocek.
Round 2:
Kicks were exchanged in round two and Bocek fell after throwing one to the upper body. Lentz looked to set up an inverted triangle choke as Bocek tried to get back to his feet, but Bocek escaped and wound up on top in Lentz’s guard. Bocek landed punches and pressed Lentz up against the cage. He kept Lentz pinned down and landed more strikes.
Bocek flurried with punches and Lentz answered with an elbow, but Bocek used the opportunity to try to set up an arm-triangle choke. Lentz defended and used butterfly guard to keep Bocek at a distance, but it did not stop Bocek from striking. Lentz locked on a tight guillotine choke and Bocek had to stand up to escape again. He fell, but got out of the choke and punched from the top. The fighters were stood up and Lentz landed a late flurry. 10-9 Bocek.
Round 3:
Lentz attempted another guillotine choke early in the final round, but Bocek escaped and punched from the top. Lentz used a second guillotine to get back to his feet and the fighters traded strikes as the crowd cheered on Bocek. He took Lentz down and Lentz went for yet another guillotine choke. Bocek escaped and nearly moved to side control.
Bocek struck from the top in Lentz’s guard as Lentz tried to set up a submission from the bottom. Bocek passed to the side for all of one second before Lentz quickly scrambled back to guard. In the final 30 seconds, Bocek punched and avoided a guillotine. The fighters stood and exchanged punches and knees. Close round and a close fight. 10-9 Bocek.
Winner: Mark Bocek by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 10-4-0.
Jake “Hitman” Hecht vs Rich “The Raging Bull” Attonito
Round 1:
Hecht landed kicks to the lead leg and body of Attonito early on and Attonito countered with a kick of his own and a right hook. More kicks scored for Hecht, but Attonito took him down near the cage. He worked from the top in half-guard, but Hecht got back to full guard and looked to set up an armbar or a triangle choke from the bottom.
Attonito punched to the head and body and kept Hecht near the fence. Hecht tried to push off to escape to his feet, but could not. Attonito remained active with punches and prevented Hecht from doing much of anything. Attonito moved to side control, then back to half-guard. He landed some solid punches in the final 30 seconds. 10-9 Attonito.
Round 2:
Hecht opened round two with a left hook and Attonito answered with a right. Hecht stuffed a takedown and landed a knee, but Attonito maintained a clinch. He dropped down for a double-leg, but Hecht badly hurt him with two elbow strikes to the side of the head. Attonito crumpled and Hecht unloaded a barrage of punches until the fight was stopped.
Winner: Jake Hecht by TKO (Elbows & Punches) at 1:10 of round two. He improves to 11-2-0.
John Cholish vs Mitch Clarke
Round 1:
Cholish landed a nice one-two and looked for a takedown early on, but Clarke stuffed it and landed quick punches and a series of leg kicks. He followed with an uppercut and slipped, but stood up and took Cholish’s back. Clarke dragged Cholish to the mat, but Cholish stood and rolled for a kneebar. He worked from Clarke’s guard against the cage as Clarke tried for submissions from the bottom. The fighters eventually stood and exchanged jabs. Cholish controlled the striking exchanges late in the round. 10-9 Cholish.
Round 2:
Cholish opened round two with a nice right hand and jabbed. Another right hand landed and the fighters clinched. They exchanged knees and separated. Cholish landed two hard right hooks and took Clarke down near the cage. Cholish struck from the top, but Clarke battled back to his feet and took Cholish down. A scramble ensued as Cholish attempted a Kimura and took Clarke’s back. He flattened Clarke out and landed punches until the fight was stopped.
Winner: John Cholish by TKO (Punches) at 4:36 of round two. He improves to 8-1-0.
