John “The One” Maguire vs Justin “Fast Eddy” Edwards

Round 1:
Time was called after Maguire was kicked twice in the groin. The fight resumed and Edwards scored with punches and a leg kick. He landed a spinning back kick to the liver and dropped Maguire with a right hand. Edwards swarmed with punches, but Maguire recovered and took top position. He slammed out of a guillotine choke, but Edwards landed elbows from the bottom. The fighters stood and both landed knees.

Maguire tripped Edwards to the mat and struck from the top in half-guard. Edwards stood, but ate knees on the way. He landed a flurry of punches and tried for a takedown, but gave up his back on the feet in the process. Maguire tried to drag Edwards to the mat, but Edwards turned and tried for a guillotine choke. The fight returned to the feet again and Maguire landed knees. Edwards attempted another guillotine, but Maguire landed punches at the bell. Close round. 10-9 Maguire, barely.

Round 2:
Maguire landed a leg kick in round two and Edwards replied with a punch-kick combo. A clinch followed and Edwards circled away. He threw a body kick and Maguire answered with a flying head kick that was blocked. The pace slowed and Maguire landed another leg kick. Edwards clinched against the cage, but Maguire took his back and slammed him down to the mat.

Maguire secured a body triangle from back control and tried to set up a rear-naked choke. Edwards threw elbows behind his head and attempted to spin into Maguire’s guard, but could not. Maguire nearly secured a pair of rear-naked chokes, but Edwards defended well. Maguire switched to an armbar just before the bell, but time ran out. 10-9 Maguire.

Round 3:
Edwards threw another spinning back kick in round two, but Maguire avoided it and scored a takedown. The fighters battled for leglocks on the ground and Maguire nearly secured a kneebar, but Edwards escaped and the fight returned to the feet. In a clinch, Maguire landed knees, but Edwards secured a front headlock and tried to pull Maguire into a guillotine choke.

Edwards lost the position and Maguire wound up on top in side control. Maguire moved to mount and Edwards gave up his back. Maguire used punches to set up a body triangle and tried for a rear-naked choke. Edwards nearly escaped, but Maguire used a Kimura attempt to keep him down. Edwards got out and wound up in a front headlock. The fighters exchanged North-South choke attempts before the bell. 10-9 Maguire.

Winner: John Maguire by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after three rounds. He improves to 17-3-0.

 

Philip De Fries vs Rob “The Bear” Broughton

Round 1:
De Fries clinched early on, but a stalemate followed and the fighters were separated. De Fries quickly clinched again, but Broughton countered with knees. De Fries dropped down and managed to get Broughton to the mat, then moved to side control. He tried to move to mount, but had to settle for a front headlock.

De Fries looked to take Broughton’s back, but Broughton spun and got back to half-guard. De Fries stood and landed two punches, then passed back to side control. Broughton tried to scramble to his feet, but gave up his back. De Fries used short punches to try to set up a rear-naked choke, but time expired. 10-9 De Fries.

Round 2:
De Fries immediately clinched in round two and took Broughton down. He moved to side control and took Broughton’s back in a scramble. Broughton rolled and De Fries returnes to side control. De Fries took back control again and Broughton tried to counter with a Kimura. He lost it and the fighters scrambled, but Broughton secured the Kimura again and switched to a straight armbar.

Broughton used the hold to sweep and took over top position in half-guard. De Fries attempted a Kimura of his own and Broughton landed big elbows to the body and thigh. Broughton locked on a Kimura on De Fries’s left arm and nearly got it behind his back. Broughton moved to a top-side crucifix position and landed a series of punches. He tried for two straight armbars before the bell. 10-9 Broughton.

Round 3:
Broughton landed a nice knee to open the final round, but De Fries took him down against the cage. De Fries passed to side control and landed short punches, then took Broughton’s back. Broughton rolled to escape and De Fries returned to side control. Broughton kneed to the body from the bottom, but gave up his back again.

De Fries moved to full mount and postured up to land punches and elbows, but Broughton kept him tied up and managed to get back to side control. De Fries tried for a Kimura and Broughton countered with elbows from the bottom. The fighters were stood up and Broughton missed with a looping right hook. 10-9 De Fries.

Winner: Philip De Fries by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 8-0-0, 1 NC.

 

Michihiro Omigawa vs Jason “Shotgun” Young

Round 1:
Young looked to land big power punches early on and stuffed a takedown from Omigawa. Young landed a kick and Omigawa answered with a one-two. Leg kicks and a right uppercut landed for Young and he circled away as Omigawa tried to clinch. The fighters traded punches and Young avoided another takedown. Omigawa managed to get Young down and worked from half-guard.

Young battled back to his feet against the cage and landed knees. Omigawa backed away, then walked right into a kick to the upper body. Young landed a leg kick and a knee and the fighters clinched against the cage. Omigawa scored with a standing elbow and Young countered with a knee and punches. He took Omigawa down, but had to fight out of a guillotine choke. 10-9 Young.

Round 2:
The fighters exchanged left hooks and knees in the second round and Omigawa took Young down. Omigawa tried for a Kimura and landed short elbows, but Young scrambled to his feet and landed a nice leg kick. He followed with an uppercut and just missed with a head kick. Young landed an elbow and Omigawa tripped him to the mat. Omigawa moved from side control to mount, but Young regained half-guard. Omigawa landed punches and short elbows. 10-9 Omigawa.

Round 3:
Young stuffed a takedown in the final round and was aggressive with a head kick and a flying knee. Young landed a combination and another flying knee, but Omigawa took him down. Omigawa dropped back for a heel hook, but Young escaped and the fighters stood. Young landed punches, but Omigawa dragged him to the mat with an arm-in guillotine choke.

Omigawa worked from the top in half-guard and landed elbows, then took Young’s back as he stood. Omigawa tripped Young back down to the mat and struck from the top again. Omigawa tried for a Kimura and a straight armbar, but Young defended well. Omigawa landed more elbows and tried for another guillotine, but Young fought out with strikes at the bell. 10-9 Omigawa.

Winner: Michihiro Omigawa by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 13-10-1.

 

Che Mills vs Chris “C-Murder” Cope

Round 1:
Cope opened the fight with a punching combination and a leg kick, but Mills snapped his head back with a jab and dropped him with a right hook, knee combo. Referee Marc Goddard nearly stopped the fight, but allowed it to continue. Cope stood and Mills floored him with another knee. He landed punches on the ground until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Che Mills by KO (Knee & Punches) at 0:40 of round one. He improves to 14-4-0, 1 NC.

 

Chris “Kamikaze” Cariaso vs Vaughan Lee

Round 1:
After an exchange of kicks, Cariaso landed a pair of lead right hands, but Lee countered with a head kick and a standing guillotine choke. He followed with knees and the fighters battled in a clinch. Lee scored a takedown and landed short elbows from the top. Cariaso managed to battle back to his feet and the fighters exchanged strikes. Lee landed a knee and scored a takedown, then tried for a guillotine on the way up. 10-9 Lee.

Round 2:
Cariaso opened the second round with a punching combination and avoided a spinning head kick from Lee, but Lee scored a takedown. Cariaso stood and landed a hard elbow, then countered a kick with a one-two. Cariaso followed with a series of standing elbows and a left hook and took Lee down. He landed strikes from the top and moved to mount, but Lee kicked him off and tried for a triangle choke before the round ended. 10-9 Cariaso.

Round 3:
Lee clinched early in the final round. The fighters were separated and Cariaso tried for a takedown, but Lee countered with knees and uppercuts. Cariaso landed a hard knee and punches of his own. Cariaso defended against a takedown from Lee and took Lee down. Cariaso moved to side control and then to mount. He unloaded with punches and elbows, then took Lee’s back and tried for a rear-naked choke. Cariaso landed more punches with his free hand until the bell. 10-9 Cariaso.

Winner: Chris Cariaso by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) after three rounds. He improves to 12-3-0.
