Yves “Thugjitsu Master” Edwards vs Rafaello “Tractor” Oliveira

Round 1:
Oliveira opened the fight with a head kick and swarmed with punches. Edwards circled away and Oliveira clinched. He backed away and landed a leg kick, then followed with another flurry of punches. Edwards, bleeding from near the right eye, stayed on the defensive as Oliveira threw more punches. Oliveira remained active with kicks and landed a knee to the body.

Edwards connected with a one-two and ate a counter right hand. Another flurry landed for Oliveira and Edwards threw a body kick. Edwards began to find his range with strikes, but Oliveira continued to land with punches. Edwards scored with a left hook and a body kick. He stuffed a takedown and landed punches to the head and body late in the round. 10-9 Oliveira.

Round 2:
Edwards landed a body kick and Oliveira answered with a flurry in round two. Oliveira clinched and Edwards scored with a big knee to the body. Oliveira fell and Edwards wound up on top. The fighters scrambled to their feet and Edwards dropped Oliveira with punches. He followed with more on the ground, but Oliveira battled back to his feet.

Edwards landed knees and standing elbows in a clinch before Oliveira backed away. Edwards dropped him with a counter right hook, but Oliveira quickly stood. He was dropped again by a head kick and Edwards unloaded with punches and elbows until the fight was stopped.

Winner: Yves Edwards by TKO (Punches) at 2:44 of round two. He improves to 41-17-1.

 

Paul “Sassangle” Sass vs Michael “The Menace” Johnson

Round 1:
Johnson kept his distance in the first round and landed kicks. He dropped Sass with a leg kick and followed with a right hand. Sass stood and Johnson landed another kick. Sass missed with a spinning back elbow and Johnson looked to counter with punches. Sass dove for an ankle and dragged Johnson to the mat with a heel hook attempt. Johnson held on and defended, but Sass switched his grip and torqued on Johnson’s leg until he tapped out.

Winner: Paul Sass by Submission (Heel Hook) at 3:00 of round one. He improves to 12-0-0.

 

Mike “The Hulk” Easton vs Byron Bloodworth

Round 1:
The fighters circled for much of the opening two minutes as Easton kept his distance and danced around. Occasional kicks were exchanged, but the crowd grew restless with the lack of action. A clinch followed and both fighters landed quick strikes, but referee Kevin Mulhall separated them after a lull in the action. Easton landed a spinning back kick and became slightly more active with strikes. He sprawled out of a takedown late in the round and looked for a front choke before the bell. Uneventful round. 10-9 Easton.

Round 2:
Leg kicks were exchanged in round two and Easton countered a right cross with a left hook. He landed an uppercut and continued to be the aggressor. Bloodworth missed with a flying knee and Easton hurt him with two leg kicks. Time was called after Bloodworth was kicked in the groin. Action resumed and both landed leg kicks. Easton followed with a flurry and clinched. He threw short knees and defended against a takedown attempt. Easton landed a huge knee to the body and Bloodworth collapsed to the mat. Easton followed with punches and the fight was stopped.

Winner: Mike Easton by TKO (Knee To The Body & Punches) at 4:52 of round two. He improves to 11-1-0.

 

T.J. Grant vs Shane Roller

Round 1:
Grant jabbed early on and the fighters traded left hands. Roller scored with a hard uppercut and Grant took him down. Roller looked for a guillotine choke from the bottom and Grant tried to set up an arm-triangle choke. A scramble ensued and Roller wound up on top. He attempted another guillotine choke and Grant squirmed out.

Grant moved briefly to mount, but lost the position and stood up. Grant settled into Roller’s guard and landed short strikes from the top. He stood and threw a hammerfist, but Roller answered with an upkick. Roller tried to scramble out to his feet, but Grant kept him down. Grant landed more punches with his free hand late in the close round. 10-9 Grant.

Round 2:
The fighters exchanged jabs and leg kicks in round two and Grant followed with a right hook. Roller answered with one of his own and Grant scored with knees. Roller reversed a takedown against the cage and the fight moved to a clinch as the fighters stood. Roller landed a knee and missed with a right hook. A big exchange of power punches followed and Roller pulled guard with a guillotine choke.

Grant freed himself and the fighters battled for position on the ground. Roller managed to scramble to top position and he tried to set up a submission. Grant prevented him from passing guard and transitioned from an arm-triangle choke to an armbar late in the round. Roller managed to hold on until the bell. Another close round. 10-9 Grant.

Round 3:
The final round began with an exchange of punches and Grant landed a hard right hand. The fighters clinched and battled for position in a clinch. Grant pulled guard with a guillotine choke and transitioned to an armbar. Roller appeared to make a sound and referee Fernando Yamasaki deemed it to be a verbal submission. He stopped the fight, to the dismay of Roller.

Winner: T.J. Grant by Technical Submission (Armbar) at 2:12 of round three. He improves to 17-5-0.

 

Josh “The Dentist” Neer vs Keith “The Polish Connection” Wisniewski

Round 1:
The fighters traded leg kicks and right hands early on and both looked to land knees in a Thai clinch. Neer landed more leg kicks and looked to score with a knockout right hook. Neer punched to the body and Wisniewski landed a knee. A clinch followed, but the fighters broke free and exchanged left hands. Neer mixed up his strikes, but Wisniewski connected with a nice left cross.

Neer pushed forward with punches and Wisniewski answered with a knee. Neer backed Wisniewski up with another flurry, but Wisniewski clinched and scored with more knees. In the final seconds of the round, Neer unloaded with four standing elbows, but looked to be hurt by a left hook to the left side of the body. Close first round. 10-9 Neer.

Round 2:
Neer was aggressive again with punches in round two, but Wisniewski clinched and backed him up to the cage. The fighters traded strikes in close and Neer landed more standing elbows. Wisniewski answered with knees and left hands to the body. Neer cut Wisniewski with elbows, but Wisniewski countered with one of his own and more body shots. Neer opened more cuts on Wisniewski’s face with standing elbows and he mixed in elbows as well.

Time was called to check Wisniewski’s cuts. A delay followed due to Neer’s mouthpiece falling under the ring. The fight finally continued and Wisniewski tried for a takedown. Neer punished him with more elbows and Wisniewski continued to bleed all over the place. In the late stages, Neer backed Wisniewski up with punches and secured a guillotine choke, but the bell sounded to end the round. 10-9 Neer.

Winner: Josh Neer by TKO (Doctor Stoppage) at 5:00 of round two. He improves to 32-10-1.

 

Walel “The Gazelle” Watson vs Joseph Sandoval

Round 1:
Watson used his reach advantage early on and landed kicks and jabs. A leg kick strayed low and time was called for Sandoval to recover. Action resumed and Watson dropped Sandoval with a head kick. Sandoval stood and Watson landed two more head kicks. He followed with punches as Sandoval fell to the mat and referee Mario Yamasaki stopped the fight.

Winner: Walel Watson by TKO (Head Kicks & Punches) at 1:17 of round one. He improves to 9-2-0.
