Ross “The Real Deal” Pearson vs Spencer “The King” Fisher

Round 1:
Fisher pushed forward aggressively to start the fight and landed quick punches. Pearson answered with leg kicks and Fisher scored with another fast flurry of punches. Fisher landed a grazing left hook and a follow-up right. Pearson responded with a right hook, but Fisher took him down. Pearson worked for a triangle choke and Fisher slammed out. The fighters stood and clinched briefly.

Leg kicks landed for both and Fisher missed with a lead right hook. He landed a leg kick and Pearson quickly fired back with a right cross. Both fighters landed jabs and Fisher looked to close the distance. He landed a nice knee from a clinch and Pearson backed away. Fisher connected with a quick one-two and a body kick before the bell. 10-9 Fisher.

Round 2:
Quick punches landed for both in round two and Fisher remained aggressive. Pearson answered with a body kick and Fisher smiled. Pearson landed a stiff jab and a right hook, then a leg kick seconds later. Fisher replied with a one-two and Pearson landed another leg kick. A hard left cross landed for Fisher and Pearson began to bleed from below the right eye. Pearson scored with a body kick and a three-punch combo. Fisher just missed with a front kick.

More leg kicks landed for Pearson, but Fisher cracked him with another one-two. Fisher threw a four-punch flurry and Pearson clinched. Fisher circled free, but Pearson landed a body kick and a right hook. Both fighters connected with punches in close and Pearson scored with a hard right hook. Fisher backed up and Pearson targeted the body. Pearson landed right hooks to the face and lefts to the body late in the close round. 10-9 Fisher, just barely.

Round 3:
After an exchange of strikes, Pearson backed Fisher up to the cage in the final round and the fighters traded knees. Fisher escaped the clinch and landed a combination. The fight briefly went to the mat, but the fighters stood and Fisher landed a nice left cross. Pearson responded with a solid combination.

A one-two and a body kick landed for Pearson and both fighters connected with hooks at the same time. Fisher landed a jab and a left hook, but ate a knee in return. Pearson continued to score with punches and tripped Fisher to the mat. He threw elbows from the top, but Fisher worked for an armbar and scrambled to his feet. Pearson took him back down and landed short elbows until the bell. 10-9 Pearson. Very close fight.

Winner: Ross Pearson by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 12-4-0.

 

Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson vs James Te Huna

Round 1:
Te Huna scored an impressive takedown right away and landed on top in Gustafsson’s half-guard. He moved to side-control and landed short punches with his free hand, but Gustafsson eventually managed to regain full guard. Te Huna landed more punches as Gustafsson worked back to his feet against the cage.

Te Huna attempted a takedown and Gustafsson countered with a guillotine choke. Te Huna got him down, but Gustafsson worked for a Kimura and the fight returned to the feet. Gustafsson stuffed a takedown and took Te Huna’s back. He tried for a rear-naked choke, but Te Huna escaped. A second attempt yielded success for Gustafsson, as Te Huna was forced to submit.

Winner: Alexander Gustafsson by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 4:27 of round one. He improves to 11-1-0.

 

Nick “The Promise” Ring vs Riki Fukuda

Round 1:
The fighters traded leg kicks early on and Fukuda scored a takedown near the cage. Ring defended and regained full guard, then worked for a triangle choke. Fukuda stayed calm and escaped to his feet, then briefly attempted a guillotine choke. Both fighters landed punches and leg kicks in an exchange.

Ring scored with more leg kicks and Fukuda appeared to slow down. He tried for a takedown and Ring easily stuffed it. Fukuda landed two outside leg kicks and a looping right hook. He followed with punches in close and scored a takedown, then worked for an arm-triangle choke at the bell. Close round. 10-9 Fukuda.

Round 2:
Single punches landed for both fighters early in the second round and Fukuda countered a leg kick with a quick one-two. Ring landed a nice left cross and more leg kicks were exchanged. Ring stuffed a takedown and scored with a kick to Fukuda’s upper body. Fukuda took him down against the cage, but Ring kicked Fukuda off and stood up. He landed a hard knee in close.

Fukuda circled away and connected with a left hook. Once again, the fighters exchanged single punches and Ring defended another takedown. Fukuda landed strikes in close and Ring backed away. The crowd grew restless as the fighters traded leg kicks. Fukuda landed another flurry and three uppercuts in a clinch. Ring broke free with a knee and landed a head kick. Another close round. 10-9 Fukuda.

Round 3:
Fukuda landed a pair of quick combinations of punches in the final round, then scored an impressive takedown. He struck from the top, but Ring defended well and scrambled back to his feet. Fukuda landed a series of short uppercuts in close and Ring offered little in return. Fukuda took him back down and landed in side-control.

Fukuda secured a front choke in a scramble and used it to push Ring to his back against the cage. Ring seemed content to stay on his back while Fukuda punched him with his free hand. Fukuda landed more short strikes and Ring tried for a Kimura. A stalemate followed and the fighters were stood up shortly before the bell. 10-9 Fukuda.

All three judges somehow scored the fight for Ring, which elicited a chorus of boos from the crowd. Terrible decision.

Winner: Nick Ring by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 11-0-0.

 

Anthony “The Hippo” Perosh vs Tom “The Juggernaut” Blackledge

Round 1:
The fighters circled early on and Blackledge landed a stiff jab. Perosh shot in for a takedown, but Blackledge defended and stood up. He fell while throwing a head kick, but quickly returned to his feet. Perosh landed a flurry and clinched. He took Blackledge down and escaped a guillotine choke. Perosh landed punches from the top and moved to Blackledge’s half-guard. He passed to mount and Blackledge rolled over. Perosh secured a rear-naked choke and Blackledge tapped out.

Winner: Anthony Perosh by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 2:45 of round one. He improves to 11-6-0.

 

Tiequan “The Mongolian Wolf” Zhang vs Jason Reinhardt

Round 1:

The fighters traded big punches early on and Reinhardt backed up to the cage. Zhang pushed forward and pulled guard with a tight guillotine choke. Reinhardt held on briefly, but tapped out just before going to sleep.

Winner: Tie Quan Zhang by Submission (Guillotine Choke) at 0:48 of round one. He improves to 18-1-0.

 

Undercard Fights:

Mark Hunt defeated Chris “The Crowbar” Tuchscherer by KO (Punch) at 1:41 of round two. He improves to 6-7-0.

Curt “The War” Warburton defeated Maciej “Irokez” Jewtuszko by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after three rounds. He improves to 7-2-0.
