Rizin FF Women’s Super Atomweight Champion Ayaka Hamasaki seeks her third victory of the year when she competes on December 31st at Rizin Fighting Federation 33 in Saitama, Japan. Hamasaki will face off against Deep Jewels Strawweight Champion Seika Izawa in a 49kg non-title bout.
Rizin FF officials announced the matchup today. Hamasaki is coming off of a hard-fought decision victory over Emi Fujino in a rematch at Rizin FF 30 in September. The undefeated Izawa makes her promotional debut following her first 49kg super atomweight victory in October at Deep: “104 Impact.”

The Ultimate Fighting Championship stayed at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada tonight for UFC on ESPN 31: “Font vs Aldo.” The event featured a bantamweight contender’s matchup between Rob Font, who had won four straight fights, and former featherweight champ José “Scarface” Aldo.
In the lightweight co-main event, Brad “Quake” Riddell clashed with Rafael “Ataman” Fiziev. Elsewhere on the main card tonight, Jimmy “The Brute” Crute faced off against Jamahal “Sweet Dreams” Hill in a featured light heavyweight matchup. MMARising.com has live play-by-play for the card.

UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru “The Nigerian Nightmare” Usman retained his title with a close and hard-fought Unanimous Decision win on November 6th at UFC 268 in New York City. Usman defeated Colby “Chaos” Covington in a main event rematch to remain atop the 170-pound rankings.
Also at UFC 268, “Thug” Rose Namajunas held on to her UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship by edging out former champ Weili “Magnum” Zhang in a rematch. Meanwhile, Rena Kubota re-enters the women’s super atomweight rankings following her win over Miyuu Yamamoto at Rizin FF 32.
