Yamaguchi is coming off of a narrow five-round decision loss against Angela “Unstoppable” Lee in a ONE Women’s Atomweight Championship bout that was heralded by many as one of the best fights in MMA history. Nunes de Souza recently scored a highlight-reel head-kick knockout victory in April.

With undefeated prospect Manjit Kolekar sidelined due to visa issues, Deep Jewels Strawweight Champion Mizuki Inoue has stepped in to compete on July 29th at Invicta Fighting Championships 18 in Kansas City, Missouri. Inoue is set to face the returning Lynn “Lights Out” Alvarez on the card.
Invicta FC officials announced the change on Thursday. Inoue has racked up three straight wins including a January submission victory over Lacey “The Ladie” Schuckman at Invicta FC 15. Veteran Alvarez now makes her first appearance for Invicta FC since the promotion’s third event in 2012.

Two-division CFFC champion Katlyn Chookagian made a successful UFC debut with a big win tonight at UFC Fight Night 91: “McDonald vs Lineker” in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Chookagian took a Unanimous Decision victory over former Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion “Lucky” Lauren Murphy.
Ealier on tonight’s card, strawweight prospect Cortney “Cast Iron” Casey earned her first UFC victory in quick and dominant fashion. Casey stopped Cristina “Barbie” Stanciu with vicious ground and pound in the first round, then called out former UFC champion Carla “Cookie Monster” Esparza.
