Momi, Simone Van Dommelen Added To SB Girls S-CupsJ-Girls Mini Flyweight Champion Momi and Dutch kickboxing star Simone van Dommelen are the latest fighters to sign on to compete in the 2014 Shoot Boxing Girls S-Cup tournaments, which both take place on August 2nd at Yamano Hall in the Yoyogi district of Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.

Momi, who is one of Japan’s top female strikers, will be the fourth and final participant in the 48kg all-Japan Girls S-Cup tournament. Van Dommelen, who is undefeated in kickboxing competition, joins a star-studded lineup of international competitors in this year’s Girls S-Cup worldwide tournament.

Nine Bouts Now Confirmed For Deep Jewels 5 CardA total of nine bouts are now set for next month’s Deep Jewels 5 event at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. Highly-touted Satomi “Sarami” Takano will face off against submission specialist Ayaka Miura in a featured grappling match on the all-female card, which is set to take place on August 9th.

Deep Jewels officials announced the match on Wednesday. Takano remains in search of her first victory under the Deep Jewels banner and she most recently engaged in a thrilling battle with Saori “Shooting Star” Ishioka at Deep Jewels 4. On the same card, Miura choked out Ella “Power” Wu.

Claudia Gadelha, Leslie Smith Win Big At UFC Fight Night 45History was made tonight when the UFC’s women’s strawweight division officially debuted at UFC Fight Night 45: “Cerrone vs Miller” in Atlantic City, New Jersey. BJJ black belt Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha earned a big win over Tina “Jelly Bean” Lähdemäki in the UFC’s first 115-pound female fight.

Saya Ito, J-Girls Champ Momi Draw At Muaylok 2014: 2nd15-year-old “Muay Thai Genius” Saya Ito and reigning J-Girls Mini Flyweight Champion Momi engaged in an action-packed back-and-forth battle on Sunday night at Muaylok 2014: 2nd in Tokyo, Japan. The featured striking matchup ended in a competitive Majority Draw after three close rounds.

Ito has faced highly skilled opponents in each of her bouts this year since turning pro in April following a 93-fight amateur career. She landed strong kicks throughout the bout with Momi and controlled the clinch battles with knees, but Momi’s quick combinations evened the bout on the scorecards.
