A total of nine bouts are now set for next month’s Deep Jewels 5 event at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. Highly-touted Satomi “Sarami” Takano will face off against submission specialist Ayaka Miura in a featured grappling match on the all-female card, which is set to take place on August 9th.
Deep Jewels officials announced the match on Wednesday. Takano remains in search of her first victory under the Deep Jewels banner and she most recently engaged in a thrilling battle with Saori “Shooting Star” Ishioka at Deep Jewels 4. On the same card, Miura choked out Ella “Power” Wu.
Takano (3-4-0 MMA) remains a top prospect on the Deep Jewels roster in spite of her recent defeats; all of which have come against high-level opponents including one-time Valkyrie champion Yasuko “Ikuko” Tamada and former Jewels titleholder Naho “Sugi Rock” Sugiyama. The Club Barbarian representative welcomed Ishioka back to the Deep Jewels ring in May, but succumbed to an armbar late in round one of an action-packed fight. Miura (1-0-0 MMA) is 2-1 in grappling bouts for Jewels and Deep Jewels, and she won her MMA debut in impressive fashion by choking Wu unconscious at Deep Jewels 4.
Deep Jewels 5 takes place on August 9th at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. The event is headlined by a rematch between Emi Tomimatsu and Mizuki Inoue for the Deep Jewels Lightweight Championship.
