Following her devastating knockout victory over Rosi “The Surgeon” Sexton at Bellator 23, Zoila “The Warrior Princess” Frausto has been officially announced as Sexton’s replacement in the Bellator women’s 115-pound tournament in August. The promotion confirmed the news this evening.
Frausto delivered a crushing knee that knocked out the heavily favoured Sexton, leaving her with a 60-day medical suspension that has forced her out of the highly-anticipated tournament. Frausto will continue her gradual drop down in weight from 135 pounds to make the 115-pound limit.

A welterweight contender’s bout between former UFC title challenger Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy and final WEC champ “The Natural Born Killer” Carlos Condit is in the works for UFC 120. MMAWeekly.com was first to report on the planned bout, which would take place on October 16th at the O2 Arena in London, England.
Hardy has not fought since coming up short in a title bid with champion Georges “Rush” St. Pierre in March, while Condit rallied to come back and stop Rory “The Waterboy” MacDonald at UFC 115 earlier this month.

In a considerable upset, former Strikeforce 135-pound competitor Zoila “The Warrior Princess” Frausto dropped down to 120 pounds tonight and knocked out Rosi “The Surgeon” Sexton at Bellator Fighting Championships 23. The end came exactly two minutes into the first round.
Sexton pressed the action early on, but was unable to secure a takedown and ultimately met her demise after a vicious knee from Frausto. Sexton had been scheduled to take part in the Bellator 115-pound women’s tournament in August, but could now be subject to a medical suspension.

The lineup for the Bellator Fighting Championships women’s 115-pound tournament is now complete. The promotion announced earlier today that American Top Team standout Jessica “Jag” Aguilar has officially signed on to be part of the impressive eight-woman tournament in August.
Aguilar joins a roster that includes pound-for-pound queen Megumi “Mega Megu” Fujii, top-ranked 125-pound star Rosi Sexton and many of the best female prospects and contenders in the sport. Aguilar is coming off of a first-round victory over the previously unbeaten Catia Vitoria this month.

As the promotion prepares to begin its long-awaited 135-pound women’s tournament later this summer, MMARising.com can exclusively reveal four of the participants in the eight-woman bracket. Among them are Brazilian star Carina “Beauty But The Beast” Damm and former Strikeforce title challenger Marloes “Rumina” Coenen.
Verbal agreements are in place with multiple fighters and official bout agreements may be distributed as early as next week. Strikeforce representatives would not comment on the ongoing negotiations.

Fractured ribs have forced former long-time PRIDE champ Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva out of his featured middleweight bout with Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 116. MMAFighting.com was first to report on the injury, which takes Silva out of the highly-anticipated July 3rd event.
In a follow-up, MMAjunkie.com has reported that former contender Chris “The Crippler” Leben, fresh off of his second-round stoppage win over Aaron “A-Train” Simpson this past Saturday, has verbally agreed to step in to face Akiyama. It would be Leben’s second fight in a two-week span.
