Canada’s top female mixed martial artist, Sarah Kaufman, has come a long way in the past two years and has no plans to slow down. She will put her undefeated 10-0 record on the line in seven days when she faces Japanese standout Takayo Hashi at Strikeforce Challengers 6 on February 26th.

With just two days to go until UFC 110 in Australia, the card has suffered a pair of last-minute changes. Former IFL heavyweight standout “Big” Ben Rothwell has withdrawn from his bout with Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipović due to illness while hometown Australian star Elvis Sinosic has been sidelined with a shoulder injury and will no longer compete.
Sinosic’s scheduled rematch with Chris Haseman has been scrapped from the card. Filipović will face late-replacement Anthony “The Hippo” Perosh, who last competed in the Octagon at UFC 66 in 2006.

Bellator Fighting Championships has announced a blockbuster lightweight bout for their upcoming second season. Bellator Lightweight Champion and former DREAM and BodogFIGHT star Eddie Alvarez will battle UFC veteran Josh “The Dentist” Neer at a Bellator event in May.
The lightweight clash will be a non-title affair, but a victory for Neer would certainly set up a rematch for Alvarez’s championship belt. Bellator will hold eight-man tournaments during its second season in the featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and middleweight divisions.

A planned welterweight grudge match between Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and John “Doomsday” Howard on the debut “UFC On Versus” card has been cancelled after Johnson suffered a knee injury in training. Undefeated submission specialist Daniel Roberts will step in to face Howard at the March 21st event.
Johnson was first set to face Howard last June at the TUF Season 9 finale, but Howard withdrew from the fight. A war of words between the two followed, but they will now have to wait to settle the score.

It took just 15 seconds for rising women’s MMA star Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson to return to her winning ways tonight at Extreme Beatdown 6 in New Town, North Dakota. Waterson submitted MMA debutant Rosary “Ro” Califano with a flying armbar in the first round.
The win was an impressive one for Waterson, who dropped down in weight after her one-sided defeat to former WIBA and IFBA Flyweight Champion Elena “Babydoll” Reid in April. However, she may have trouble finding competition at 105 pounds, as the division is limited outside of Japan.

King of the Cage made its HDNet debut tonight with KOTC: “Vengeance,” which featured a trio of title fights. The Mark Burnett production concluded with a second-round stoppage victory for Mike “MAK” Kyle, while UFC veteran Rich “No Love” Clementi was upset earlier in the night.
