Torres landed quick elbows over the top, but Rain did well to keep her pinned against the fence.

Short right hands were exchanged and Torres tried to mix in knees to the body. Rain landed some knees of her own and the fighters continued to battle in close. Torres finally broke away and threw a leg kick, but Rain immediately responded with a spinning backfist that landed. Torres pressed forward with a huge flurry of punches that badly rocked Rain and forced her to retreat. Rain recovered and the round ended in a clinch. 10-9 Torres.

Round 2:
An exchange of body kicks opened round two and Rain attempted a flying knee and a head kick. Torres circled out and Rain tried for another head kick. More kicks to the lead leg and body landed for Rain and Torres answered back with a solid punching combination. Torres landed a hard right hook and Rain tried to suplex her to the mat. She could not do so and Torres remained on her feet.

Round 3:

Rain threw a head kick and landed one to the body, but it was immediately countered by a Torres one-two. Once again, Rain clinched for a takedown and she briefly eyed a standing arm-triangle choke. Torres fought free and used quick punches to create space to back away. Rain pressed the action, but Torres’s counter rights were on point and she landed repeatedly to Rain’s jaw.

Rain secured a clinch and Torres punished her with high knees. Rain flurried and Torres circled away from the clinch. Rain’s left eye began to swell up as she and Torres traded punches in the centre of the cage. Rain countered Torres’s punches with a brief clinch attempt, but Torres easily evaded. In the final seconds, Rain used a bulldog choke to drag Torres down, but Torres took her back in the process and worked for a rear-naked choke until the end of the round. 10-9 Torres.

  1. Much love to Danielle West. Julia Budd seemed just stronger, which doesn’t always make the best fighter.

  2. Zingano had a strength advantage, but I could swear Raquel’s knees were hurting her more than the other way around.

Cat’s athleticism is something… she used to fight at 125 lbs.

  3. Wow. Tara LaRosa is slow. What happened to her?

  4. Wow… Tara LaRosa looks slow and out of shape. Vanessa Porto is picking her apart.

  5. Gotta love Leslie Smith!

  6. Wow!!!!
And, IMO, rd 1 was a clear 10-9 to Leslie. She won the stand-up and controlled Young on the floor.

  7. […] Full play-by-play for all bouts on the Invicta FC 3 card is available here. […]
