Rosi Sexton vs Zoila Frausto A Possibility For Bellator 23After younger sister Stephanie competes one week earlier, Strikeforce veteran Zoila “The Warrior Princess” Frausto may also make her Bellator debut later this month. Frausto is tentatively set to face British star Rosi Sexton in a planned 120-pound bout at Bellator 23 on June 24th.

Contrary to reports suggesting otherwise, the Sexton-Frausto bout is not signed and no official bout agreements are in place. Sexton’s manager, Ian Dean, could not publicly confirm or deny plans for a bout with Frausto, but stated that Sexton has yet to receive a bout agreement for any June fight.

Sexton (10-1-0) was forced out of a planned May 22nd bout with Emi Fujino in her native England for Cage Warriors Fighting Championship due to ongoing negotiations with Bellator. She re-signed with the promotion and was announced as a participant in the Bellator 115-pound women’s tournament later this year. In the interim, Sexton is scheduled to compete in pre-tournament action at Bellator 23, though her opponent has yet to be finalised. Frausto has emerged as the leading candidate.

Frausto (6-1-0) reigned undefeated through her first five fights before taking on Strikeforce contender Miesha “Takedown” Tate at Strikeforce Challengers 7 in March. Frausto was dominated en route to a second-round submission loss and opted to drop back down to 125 pounds. She picked up her sixth victory on May 16th when she defeated Michelle Ould by second-round verbal submission due to injury. Shortly thereafter, Frausto announced that she was training for a fight in late June.

MMARising.com has since confirmed that Frausto is tentatively set to be Sexton’s next opponent.

Bellator 23 takes place on June 24th at Fourth Street Live! in Louisville, Kentucky. The event also features the final bout in this year’s Bellator Middleweight Tournament.
