Profile:

Mike Ciesnelovicz took a different, more well-rounded path to the IFL. Never a wrestler in high school, Ciesnelovicz competed in baseball, basketball, football and other sports, while taking karate, judo and kickboxing classes.

While being a professional athlete was always his goal, Ciesnelovicz recognized that he not only enjoyed mixed martial arts, but that he had enough talent to make that dream come true.

Mike's first stop was Lock Haven University, a wrestling power, where he walked on to the squad and honed his grappling skills while earning a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. He realized that to be the best he could be, he would need to find the right mentor, in the right place, which was Pat Miletich, in Iowa.

Ciesnelovicz worked as a substitute teacher while learning the MMA ropes, and later trained full-time as a Silverback in the International Fight League. He recently made his long-awaited UFC debut, albeit at the heavyweight level, and scored a quick submission win over Neil "Goliath" Grove. However, Ciesnolevicz was defeated by Tomasz Drwal in his second UFC bout.
