After suffering a pair of controversial decision defeats, former Invicta FC champion Lauren Murphy earned her first UFC victory tonight at UFC Fight Night 83: “Cerrone vs Oliveira” in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Murphy stopped short-notice replacement Kally Faszholz very late in the third round.
Faszholz got off to a strong start in the opening round, but Murphy took over as the fight progressed and she overwhelmed Faszholz with elbows before the final bell. Elsewhere, Ashlee Evans-Smith eked out a decision win over Marion “The Belizean Bruiser” Reneau in a bout marred by dreadful scoring.

Competing for the fifth time in a nine-month span, Angela “Unstoppable” Lee picked up another impressive submission win tonight at ONE Championship 38: “Tribe of Warriors” in Jakarta, Indonesia. The undefeated 19-year-old finished Rebecca “The Professor” Heintzman early in the second round.
Lee, who has fought exclusively for ONE since turning pro in May, battered Heintzman with punches and knees to the face in round one of tonight’s 120-pound catchweight bout. She landed more knees on the ground in the second stanza and secured a neck crank that forced Heintzman to submit.

Former Bellator champion Zoila “The Warrior Princess” Frausto returned to the bantamweight division for the first time since 2010 and earned a close decision victory tonight at Tachi Palace Fights 26: “Brawl In The Hall” in Lemoore, California. Frausto outpointed Corina Herrera in a thrilling bout.
In spite of a significant size and experience disadvantage, Herrera made a big statement with her impressive performance tonight against Frausto, who threatened with numerous submission attempts. Frausto could not secure a finish, but she halted her four-fight losing skid with the decision victory.
