Three additional matches have been added to the upcoming Jewels: “15th Ring” card on July 9th in Tokyo, Japan. The sold-out event will now feature a kickboxing bout between J-Girls veteran Tomoko SP and Jewels newcomer Kaoru Chatani. The fight is one of three kickboxing matches on the card.
Also announced were a pair of amateur MMA bouts. The first matchup pits Nana “Chanchin” Ichikawa against Tamaki Usui, while the second features a rematch between Kayoko Yamazaki and O Quin Mei. The pair first faced off at “14th Ring” and fought to a time-limit Draw under grappling rules.

Sunday’s controversial bout between lightweights Nik “The Carny” Lentz and Charles “do Bronx” Oliveira has now been officially ruled a No Contest due to Oliveira’s illegal knee strike in the second round. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission confirmed the change today after deliberations.
The spirited Fight of the Night matchup between Lentz and Oliveira originally ended in a submission win for Oliveira, but controversy immediately arose due to an illegal knee – undetected by referee Chip Snider – shortly before Oliveira secured a rear-naked choke on a bloodied Lentz for the victory.

Former Strikeforce and EliteXC champion Jake Shields will look to rebound from his loss to reigning UFC Welterweight Champion Georges “Rush” St. Pierre when he returns to action later this year. Shields will next face rising star Jake “The Juggernaut” Ellenberger at an event set for the Fall.
MMAFighting.com first reported on the matchup on Sunday. The fight has since been officially confirmed by the promotion as the main event of UFC: “Battle on the Bayou” on September 17th in New Orleans, Louisiana. The surging Ellenberger has won four straight fights inside the Octagon.

Despite a last-minute change to tonight’s main event, the Ultimate Fighting Championship made its way to the Consol Energy Centre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for UFC Live 4. The card was headlined by a heavyweight bout between talented strikers Pat “HD” Barry and Cheick Kongo.

Competing for the first time in seven months, Jessica “Jag” Aguilar made a successful return tonight with a Split Decision win over All-American wrestler Carla Esparza at Bellator Fighting Championships 46 in Hollywood, Florida. The victory was Aguilar’s second since losing to Zoila Gurgel last year.
The back-and-forth matchup saw both fighters land numerous leg kicks, and Aguilar held her own in the takedown and wrestling departments. Despite a knockdown early in the final round, Aguilar rallied back to take the fight on two of the three judges’ scorecards. A third scored the bout for Esparza.

After a shoulder injury forced Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos out of a planned Strikeforce bout with fellow striker Paul “Semtex” Daley on July 30th, Daley has received a new opponent for the card. The British knockout artist will now face off against unbeaten prospect Tyron “T-Wood” Woodley.
The change in Daley’s opponent was first reported by MMAjunkie.com today and later confirmed by Strikeforce reps. Daley will look to rebound from his first-round knockout loss to Nick Diaz in April. Woodley, meanwhile, has yet to taste defeat in his career and most recently earned a victory in January.

Former Strikeforce middleweight title challengers “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler and Tim Kennedy will square off in a featured matchup at Strikeforce: “Fedor vs Henderson” on July 30th in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The bout was made official by the promotion in an announcement earlier this afternoon.
Kennedy had his four-fight winning streak snapped on August 21st when he challenged unsuccessfully for the then-vacant Strikeforce Middleweight Championship against Ronaldo “Jacaré” Souza. Lawler most recently faced Souza in January, but fell victim to a third-round rear-naked choke.
