Mike Swick To Face Paulo Thiago At UFC 109Mere hours after Josh Koscheck was forced to withdraw from his UFC 109 rematch with Paulo Thiago due to injury, Koscheck’s American Kickboxing Academy teammate Mike “Quick” Swick has stepped in to face Thiago. The welterweight bout will be part of the event’s televised main card.

Koscheck received criticism for a post-fight speech following his UFC 106 victory over Anthony “Rumble” Johnson when he inadvertently insulted Swick. In an interesting turn of events, Swick will now look to gain a measure of revenge for Koscheck’s prior loss when he battles Thiago.

Josh Koscheck Injured, Out Of UFC 109Injury woes continue to create chaos for upcoming UFC cards and welterweight contender Josh Koscheck is the latest in a seemingly never-ending string of casualties. Koscheck suffered an undisclosed injury in training and has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled rematch with Paulo Thiago at UFC 109.

Thiago shockingly knocked Koscheck out in the first round of their initial meeting at UFC 95 and Koscheck had aimed to avenge the loss. Thiago will still compete at UFC 109 against an opponent to be named soon.

Reports had previously confirmed that Sakuraba would compete on the card against Misaki, but it is presently unknown whether Sakuraba will still be part of the gigantic Dynamite!! event. Misaki will now face an opponent with a vastly different style when he takes on Manhoef.

Mark Hominick Rumoured To Be Facing Bryan CarawayAfter original opponent Yves Jabouin was forced to withdraw due to an injury, Canadian striker Mark “The Machine” Hominick will face another tough test in his WEC return at WEC 46 on January 10th. Hominick is tentatively set to square off with EliteXC and Strikeforce veteran Bryan “Kid” Caraway in a featured featherweight bout on the card.

Caraway will be making his WEC debut after successful tenures in a variety of promotions in the Pacific Northwest, while Hominick, one of the top technical strikers in the division, looks to pick up his first WEC win.
