Seki vs Taniyama, Decker vs Hui Added To Deep Jewels 6 CardVeteran journeywoman Yukiko Seki looks to rebound from a loss in May when she returns to action at Deep Jewels 6 on November 3rd in Tokyo, Japan. Seki is set to face off against Naomi Taniyama in one of two featherweight (105.6-pound) bouts announced for the card on Friday.

Also on the Deep Jewels 6 card, Brittany Ann “Briko” Decker tries for her first pro win when she takes on Chinese striker Pan Hui, who makes her MMA debut on the card. Decker dropped a close decision in her Deep Jewels debut in May. She drops down to 48kg to face Hui next month.

Seki (12-24-0) has faced nearly every top female fighter in Japan’s lighter weight classes during her ten-year pro career. She enjoyed a career resurgence during a two-year span between July 2010 and June 2012 that saw her win six of eight fights including key victories over Miyoko Kusaka and Sachiko “Sachi” Yamamoto. Seki is 1-2 since joining the Deep Jewels roster this past year and she now looks to get back on track following a loss to top contender “V.V” Mei Yamaguchi at Deep Jewels 4.

Taniyama (1-2-0) has also encountered mixed success in recent years. She turned pro in late 2012 and suffered a submission loss to grappling ace Mina Kurobe, then dropped a decision to Tamaki Usui on the second Deep Jewels card this past November. In her most recent fight, Taniyama picked up her first professional victory with a Unanimous Decision win over Yuko Kawabata at Deep Jewels 4. She faces a much tougher test next month when she battles the experienced veteran, Seki.

Decker (0-1-0) kicked off her MMA career in May after developing her ground game in grappling bouts. She engaged in a back-and-forth fight with Tomo Maesawa, but ultimately came up just short on the scorecards. Seeking her first pro win, she now returns to Deep Jewels to face Chinese newcomer Hui (0-0-0), who currently lives and trains in Japan. Hui is known for her striking skills, but she has worked on her ground game in preparation for her MMA debut and looks to upset Decker next month.

Deep Jewels 6 takes place on November 3rd at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. The event is headlined by a Deep Jewels Featherweight Championship trilogy bout between champion Seo Hee Ham and Saori “Shooting Star” Ishioka.
