A total of eight women’s bouts are now booked for BlackEye Promotions 5: “Breast Cancer Beatdown” on October 1st in Fletcher, North Carolina. The card is headlined by a previously announced matchup between Roxanne “The Happy Warrior” Modafferi and Barb “Little Warrior” Honchak.

Muay Thai star Charmaine “Not So Sweet” Tweet takes on fellow Canadian Anna Barone in a featured bout on the October card. Tweet stepped in after Erin “Steel” Toughill withdrew due to injury. In other action, Sofie Bagherdai returns after a three-year absence from MMA to face Ivana Coleman.

Tweet (0-1-0) made her mixed martial arts debut in June against current Strikeforce contender “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey at a Hard Knocks Fighting Championship event, but suffered a quick submission loss at the hands of the judoka. She will return to Hard Knocks on September 23rd to face Heather “The Main Event” Martin before travelling south to battle Barone (1-2-0) eight days later. A native of Saskatchewan, Tweet enters the bout with Ontario’s Barone after Barone’s original opponent, Erin Toughill, reportedly suffered rib injuries and a bruised lung in training.

Bagherdai (4-1-0) built a name for herself in the all-female Fatal Femmes Fighting promotion with three straight wins in 2007 before suffering her only loss to date against BodogFIGHT and Strikeforce veteran Carina “Beauty But The Beast” Damm. She fought once more in 2008 following the collapse of FFF, but has not competed since. Her opponent, Coleman (1-1-0), fell short in her June 2010 pro debut against unbeaten rising star Cat “Alpha” Zingano, but rebounded with a submission victory in April.

In another change to the card, Chelsea “The Italian Princess” Colarelli (6-2-0) has stepped in to face “Little” Patricia Vidonic (4-1-0). Colarelli replaces Avery Vilche and brings a five-fight winning streak into the bout. All eight of Colarelli’s fights, win or lose, have ended by submission. Vidonic has won four straight and is coming off of a big victory over Lacey “The Ladie” Schuckman.

BlackEye Promotions 5 takes place on October 1st at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center in Fletcher, North Carolina. The 20-fight card features eight women’s bouts.
