A second kickboxing matchup has been added to the Jewels: “16th Ring” card on September 11th in Tokyo, Japan. Kozue “Azuma” Nagashima, who was victorious in the kickboxing main event of “13th Ring” in May, will face once-beaten South Korean Kim Sung Eun, who holds numerous titles.
Nagashima defeated Yukimi Kamikaze in their May headliner and she has captured championships of her own during her kickboxing career. The fight between Nagashima and Eun joins a previously announced kickboxing match between Chikako WSR and Satoko Ozawa on the September card.
Nagashima and Kamikaze engaged in a spirited bout at 13th Ring, with Nagashima emerging victorious via a razor-thin but Unanimous Decision after three rounds. Her aggression and effective counterstrikes late in the fight were just enough to earn the nod from the judges. Nagashima will not have an easy opponent for her return to Jewels, as Eun sports an impressive 14-1 record and captured over half a dozen championship titles in 2009 and 2010.
Like her last Jewels fight, Nagashima’s bout with Eun will once again be contested over three, three-minute rounds. Kickboxing matches continue to be a staple of Jewels cards and Nagashima has begun to make a name for herself in the Jewels ring.
