Sara McMann vs Tonya Evinger Agreed For Titan Fighting Championship 19A women’s bout between Olympic silver medallist Sara McMann and fellow wrestler Tonya Evinger is in the works for Titan Fighting Championship 19 on July 29th in Kansas City, Kansas. MMARising.com confirmed plans for the fight with a source close to the promotion after Evinger announced it.

McMann has won both of her professional mixed martial arts bouts to date in quick fashion after initially struggling to find opponents. She will take a big step up in competition to face Evinger, however, and the fighters will have just over a week to prepare for next Friday’s event, which airs on HDNet.

McMann (2-0-0) made her long-awaited pro debut in late May and scored a quick submission victory over Christina Marks. Returning to action mere weeks later, she stopped Julie “Badchild” Malenfant with punches in just 32 seconds. McMann’s two pro fights to date have combined for a mere 2:13 and she has demonstrated an impressive top game with both strikes and submission attempts after taking her opponents down to the mat.

Evinger (8-5-0) last competed in a quick submission loss to Raging Wolf champion Alexis Davis in a November rematch. She had previously lost a competitive battle with Davis six months earlier, but stopped Adrienna Jenkins in between the Raging Wolf title fights. Prior to the recent 1-2 skid, Evinger had won seven of nine fights and earned notable victories over Julie “Fireball” Kedzie and Sarah “The White Tiger” Schneider during that time.

Both fighters possess solid wrestling backgrounds, though McMann’s credentials may suggest an edge on paper. Evinger brings a significant experience advantage into the fight, however, and has already faced some of the best female fighters in MMA.

Titan Fighting Championship 19 takes place on July 29th at the Kansas City Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas. The event will air live on HDNet.
