Three additional matches have been added to the upcoming Jewels: “15th Ring” card on July 9th in Tokyo, Japan. The sold-out event will now feature a kickboxing bout between J-Girls veteran Tomoko SP and Jewels newcomer Kaoru Chatani. The fight is one of three kickboxing matches on the card.

Also announced were a pair of amateur MMA bouts. The first matchup pits Nana “Chanchin” Ichikawa against Tamaki Usui, while the second features a rematch between Kayoko Yamazaki and O Quin Mei. The pair first faced off at “14th Ring” and fought to a time-limit Draw under grappling rules.

Showcasing many of the top stars from Jewels and Valkyrie, including former pound-for-pound queen Megumi Fujii and past and present champions such as Yuka Tsuji and Mei Yamaguchi, the “15th Ring” card is arguably the most talent-laden Jewels offering to date. Many of the “Jewels vs Valkyrie” bouts will be contested under Jewels Special Rules, which permit strikes to the face on the ground.

The addition of multiple Special Rules bouts represents a significant shift in policy for Jewels.

In total, four “Jewels vs Valkyrie” fights will be contested on the July 9th card. Valkyrie narrowly edged Jewels by a score of 3-2 in a best-of-five series that spanned May’s 13th and 14th Ring events. Other matches on next weekend’s card include a fight between former Smackgirl champion Hitomi Akano and multi-promotion titleholder Roxanne Modafferi, and an intriguing featherweight fight between Hiroko Yamanaka and Esui.
