Deep Jewels 11 Live Play-By-Play & ResultsDeep Jewels showcased its 11th all-female fight card on Sunday afternoon at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. Deep Jewels 11 was headlined by a featured atomweight contender’s bout between former Deep Jewels Interim Strawweight Champion Emi Tomimatsu and Saori “Shooting Star” Ishioka.

In tonight’s co-feature, Deep Jewels Strawweight Champion Mizuki Inoue took on Nori Date in a non-title matchup. Mina Kurobe faced Hana Date in a short-notice atomweight bout after injuries resulted in two late changes to the card. MMARising.com has live play-by-play for Deep Jewels 11.

 

Atomweight Bout – 3×5

Emi Tomimatsu vs Saori “Shooting Star” Ishioka

Round 1:
Referee for this bout is Yoshinori Umeki. Ishioka circles and Tomimatsu throws left jabs and right straights. Ishioka tries to land right hook counters when Tomimatsu finishes her flurries. She blocks a right hand, but Tomimatsu throws more of them and connects. She pushes Ishioka to the mat and lands punches from full guard. Ishioka escapes to her feet and throws jab-hook combos. She clinches and lands knees before the bell.

Round 2:
Tomimatsu clinches and sweeps out Ishioka’s leg in round two. She passes from side control to North-South position and works for a kimura. Ishioka tries to escape by exploding out, but Tomimatsu dives on her and grabs onto a kimura. She uses it to take Ishioka’s back and secures a rear-naked choke that forces Ishioka to tap out.

Winner: Emi Tomimatsu by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 4:49 of round two. She improves to 11-10-0.

 

Non-Title Strawweight Bout – 3×5

Mizuki Inoue vs Nori Date

Round 1:
Referee for this bout is Masato Fukuda. Nori begins the bout with two Yellow Cards due to missing weight by 950 grams (2.1 pounds). Nori throws front kicks and a spinning back kick, but misses with both. Inoue drops her with a left hook and moves to half-guard. She passes to mount soon after and lands several hard punches. Inoue alternates between punches and armbar attempts until she finally locks on an armbar that prompts referee Fukuda to wave off the fight.

Winner: Mizuki Inoue by Technical Submission (Armbar) at 3:12 of round one. She improves to 11-4-0.

 

Atomweight Bout – 2×5

Mina Kurobe vs Hana Date

Round 1:
Referee for this bout is Kenichi Serizawa. Hana throws front kicks and Kurobe chases. Hana lands straight lefts, but Kurobe scores a double-leg takedown straight into mount. Hana scrambles back to her feet, but Kurobe clinches and takes her down into mount again. Kurobe attempts an armbar, but Hana escapes and she defends against Kurobe’s takedowns until the bell.

Round 2:
Hana lands body kicks in round two until Kurobe takes her down. She moves from side control to mount. Kurobe scores with ground and pound, but Hana scrambles and the fighters fall through the ropes. Back on the feet, Kurobe works for takedowns. She gets Hana down on her second try and attempts an armbar from mount. Hana defends and tries to stand. She knees Kurobe’s back, but Kurobe maintains her grip on the armbar.

Judges Hidenobu Koike, Masato Fukuda and Yoshinori Umeki all score the fight for the winner by Unanimous Decision, Kurobe.

Winner: Mina Kurobe by Unanimous Decision after two 5:00 rounds. She improves to 6-2-0.

 

Atomweight Kickboxing Match – 3×3

Mei Umeo vs Satomi “Sarami” Takano

Round 1:
Referee for this bout is Yoshinori Umeki. Umeo keeps her distance and throws low kicks from both legs. Takano chases and lands a right hook. Umeo rushes after Takano and lands left jabs, but the rest of her punches all come up short.

Round 2:
Both fighters move forward and trade punches in round two. Umeo lands right straights and Takano answers with hooks. She catches Umeo’s left body kick and lands another hard right hook. Takano connects with several left hooks during an exchange before the bell.

Round 3:
Umeo throws body kicks and Takano replies with hooks in round three. After a clinch, Umeo throws more left body kicks, but Takano catches one and trips her to the mat. Takano punches her way into a clinch and Umeo lands knees in the final seconds.

Judge Hidenobu Koike scores the fight for Takano. Judges Kenichi Serizawa and Masato Fukuda both have it for the winner by Split Decision, Umeo.

Winner: Mei Umeo by Split Decision after three 3:00 rounds.

 

Atomweight Bout – 2×5

Pan “Kai” Hui vs Real Date

Round 1:
Referee for this bout is Hidenobu Koike. Hui targets the body and lands left and right hooks. She tries for a takedown, but Real sprawls. Real backs up and lands a front kick. Hui counters with a left-right combo. Real clinches after getting hit and Hui takes her down into side control.

Round 2:
Hui backs Real up with a right hook and Real throws a front kick from a distance. Left and right hooks land for Hui, who follows with a left high kick. The referee separates the fighters after a brief clinch. Real lands some nice body kicks, but Hui immediately counters with more hooks. She chases Real down and both fighters land knees in a clinch before the bell.

Judges Yoshinori Umeki, Kenichi Serizawa and Masato Fukuda all score the fight for the winner by Unanimous Decision, Hui.

Winner: Pan Hui by Unanimous Decision after two 5:00 rounds. She improves to 2-1-0.

 

Strawweight Grappling Match – 2×4

Natsumi Mukai vs Tomo Maesawa

Round 1:
Referee for this bout is Hidenobu Koike. Maesawa circles on the feet and shoots in for a double-leg. Mukai catches one of Maesawa’s arms and looks for a kimura. Maesawa breaks free from the kimura and stands up. Mukai attempts a standing guilotine choke when Maesawa shoots in, but Maesawa escapes. She scores a double-leg takedown, but Mukai counters with another kimura and referee Koike stops the match.

Winner: Natsumi Mukai by Technical Submission (Kimura) at 3:30 of round one.

 

46kg Amateur MMA Bout – 2×3

Kana Inamura vs Natsumi Sugie

Round 1:
Referee for this bout is Kenichi Serizawa. Inamura scores a double-leg takedown and moves to side control. Sugie bridges out and gets back to her feet. The process repeats itself and Sugie stands again. A scramble ensues in a clinch and Inamura reverses into mount. Sugie gives up her back and slips out the back. Inamura ties her up until the bell.

Round 2:
Inamura secures a quick takedown in round two and moves to mount. She then switches to side control and aims for a kimura and an armbar. Inamura locks on an armbar and referee Serizawa has seen enough. He waves off the fight.

Winner: Kana Inamura by Technical Submission (Armbar) at 2:40 of round two.
