Invicta FC 15 Bonuses: Anderson vs Leibrock Wins Fight Of The NightAustralian featherweight Megan Anderson picked up her first Invicta FC victory in an entertaining battle tonight at Invicta Fighting Championships 15 in Costa Mesa, California. Anderson finished Amber Leibrock in round three of the Invicta FC 15 Fight of the Night, and both claimed $1500 bonuses.

Tonight’s card also featured three $1000 Performance of the Night bonus winners. Invicta FC Strawweight Champion Livia Renata “Livinha” Souza and fellow 115-pound standouts Mizuki Inoue and Angela “Overkill” Hill were all rewarded with bonuses for their stoppage victories in featured bouts.

Anderson (5-2-0) and Leibrock (1-1-0) stood toe to toe and traded heavy punches throughout the first round of their fight, which opened up the Invicta FC 15 card. Anderson was rocked by a combination from Leibrock, but she recovered and took control of the bout in a series of clinch battles. After an early takedown from Anderson in round three, Leibrock countered with a triangle choke and stood up. She was quickly overwhelmed by a series of punches and knees from Anderson, who earned an impressive TKO victory at the 2:33 mark of round three.

In tonight’s co-feature, Souza (9-0-0) easily retained her title with a quick stoppage win over challenger DeAnna “The Argentine Assassin” Bennett (8-1-0). After an early exchange of strikes, Souza landed a crushing liver kick that dropped a wounded Bennett to the mat. Souza finished her off with punches and she was declared the winner by TKO at the 1:30 mark of the opening round.

Deep Jewels champion Inoue (10-4-0) dominated her bout with Lacey “The Ladie” Schuckman (11-9-0) on the ground before finishing her foe with an armbar in the third round. Inoue attacked with rear-naked chokes and armbars in the opening ten minutes, but she found herself trapped in a tight inverted triangle choke at one point. After mounting Schuckman in round three, Inoue landed punches and spun into an armbar that forced Schuckman to verbally submit at the 3:41 mark.

Rebounding from a tough loss in the UFC, Hill (3-2-0) won her Invicta FC debut by destroying Alida Gray (4-3-0). Hill hurt Gray with a right hand early in their strawweight matchup and she swarmed on her with knees and punches. A final knee to the body dropped Gray like a rock and the bout was stopped, giving Hill a knockout victory at the 1:39 mark of round one.
