Joanne Calderwood Stops Sally Krumdiack At Cage Warriors 53Scottish knockout artist Joanne “JoJo” Calderwood picked up another impressive victory tonight in front of her hometown fans at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 53 in Glasgow, Scotland. Calderwood stopped American veteran “Slick” Sally Krumdiack with punches in the first round.

Calderwood pressed the action with kicks, but Krumdiack was game and she landed some nice counter combinations. A Calderwood uppercut spelled the beginning of the end for Krumdiack, however, and Calderwood swarmed with more punches until the action-packed bout was stopped.

Calderwood (6-0-0) opened the action with a quick head kick in the early goings, but Krumdiack (9-7-0) appeared to be unfazed and she responded with a combination. Calderwood walked her down with more kicks, but Krumdiack landed another solid one-two counter and she remained aggressive with her punches in close. Calderwood scored with a body kick and she knocked Krumdiack down with another one as the American attempted a spinning backfist.

Krumdiack got back to her feet, but Calderwood rocked her with an uppercut to the left eye. Krumdiack stumbled backwards and fell down against the cage. Calderwood moved in and unloaded with punches until referee Marc Goddard called a stop to the brief but entertaining fight.

With tonight’s victory, Calderwood kept her perfect professional MMA record intact. Four of her six wins have ended via a form of knockout and she is expected to return to action at Invicta FC 6 this summer.

Winner: Joanne Calderwood by TKO (Punches) at 3:08 of round one. She improves to 6-0-0.
