Tecia Torres Moves To 5-0 With Title Win In FloridaTecia “The Tiny Tornado” Torres ran her amateur MMA record to 5-0 with an impressive Unanimous Decision victory tonight at MMA Solutions Global: “Bone Island Fights” in Key West, Florida. Torres defeated the previously unbeaten Jamie Moyle to capture the promotion’s 115-pound women’s title.

Despite giving up a size advantage to her opponent, Torres held an edge in the striking exchanges and she was particularly effective with kicks in the opening round. Moyle was able to score a pair of takedowns, but it was not enough and Torres walked away with a well-earned victory and the title belt.

Torres (5-0-0) showcased her kickboxing skills early in the fight and landed kicks to the head and upper body that forced Moyle (2-1-0) to close the distance. She managed to get Torres down to the mat on two occasions, but Torres battled back to her feet and secured a takedown of her own. As the fight progressed, Torres kept it on the feet and she was able to score with some solid kicks and punches. Moyle was unable to get her back down and the fight ultimately went to the scorecards.

All three judges awarded the fight to Torres, who has won three times this year and hopes for a quick return to action in June or July. The 22-year-old striker remains one of the top amateur prospects in the 115-pound women’s division.

Winner: Tecia Torres by Unanimous Decision after three rounds. She improves to 5-0-0 as an amateur and becomes the new MMA Solutions Women’s Super Flyweight Champion.
