Yana Kunitskaya Stops Arune Lauzeckaite At Bushido Hero'sBushido Women’s Champion Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya made short work of her opponent this evening at Bushido Hero’s: World Grand Prix Lithuania. Competing for the first time in 11 months, Kunitskaya stopped challenger Arune Lauzeckaite in less than two minutes in a dominant performance.

Kunitskaya had been absent from MMA competition since a win over Cindy “Battlecat” Dandois last December, but kept busy in kickboxing bouts this year. Ring rust did not appear to play a factor tonight, as Kunitskaya took Lauzeckaite down and punched from mount until the fight was stopped.

Kunitskaya (5-1-0) closed the distance early on, but Lauzeckaite (0-2-0) cracked her with a left hook counter that drew applause from the partisan crowd. Kunitskaya pushed forward again and landed a spinning backfist before taking her much larger opponent down to the mat. From there, Kunitskaya transitioned from side control to mount and unloaded dozens of punches as Lauzeckaite tried to cover up to defend. Lauzeckaite blocked many of the punches, but some got through.

After close to a full minute of punches from Kunitskaya, the bout was finally waved off. Kunitskaya has now won three straight fights – all by knockout – and has secured finishes in all five of her pro victories.

Winner: Yana Kunitskaya by TKO (Punches) at 1:34 of round one. She improves to 5-1-0 and remains the Bushido FC Women’s Champion.
