In a month filled with UFC title changes, Amanda “Lioness” Nunes ascended to the top of the women’s bantamweight rankings with a huge victory on July 9th at UFC 200 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nunes submitted Miesha “Cupcake” Tate in the main event to become the new 135-pound women’s champion.
Other new UFC champions crowned in July were lightweight Eddie Alvarez and welterweight Tyron “The Chosen One” Woodley, who claimed belts with quick knockout wins. Joanna Jędrzejczyk, Valentina “Bullet” Shevchenko and Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen” Peña also earned key victories.
