After pulling off the first Twister in ONE Championship history earlier this month, unbeaten prospect Angela “Unstoppable” Lee takes on her toughest opponent to date on December 11th at ONE: “Spirit of Champions” in Pasay, Manila, Philippines. Lee battles Lena Tkhorevska in a featured matchup.
ONE officials announced the fight this evening. Lee has rapidly developed into one of the promotion’s top female stars thanks to her three first-round submission wins inside the ONE cage. Poland’s Tkhorevska has tasted defeat just one time as a pro and makes her ONE debut next month.
Lee (3-0-0) kicked off her amateur career in Hawaii and finished three straight opponents in the first round before turning pro in May at age 18. She racked up back-to-back submission wins over Aya Saber and Mona Samir in her first two fights for ONE Championship, which set up a clash against Natalie “The Kilapino” Gonzales Hills nine days ago. Lee weathered an early storm of strikes from Gonzales Hills and prevailed via the rarely-seen Twister near the midway point of the opening round.
Tkhorevska (3-1-0) turned pro in June 2013 and she made an instant impact by scoring a 65-second knockout victory in a main event matchup. She followed that up by submitting knockout artist Sylwia “Mała” Juśkiewicz three months later. Tkhorevska’s lone professional setback came in the form of a third-round technical decision loss to Iman Darabi in November 2013, and she now returns to MMA for the first time since submitting Anna Moldavchuk in just 39 seconds in a March 2014 bout.
ONE: “Spirit of Champions” takes place on December 11th at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Manila, Philippines. A contracted weight limit was not specified for the Lee-Tkhorevska bout.
