After coming up short in his first bid for UFC title gold, Daniel “D.C.” Cormier made the most of a second chance and claimed the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship on May 23rd at UFC 187 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Cormier submitted Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and takes over the top spot at 205.
Also at UFC 187, middleweight champ “All-American” Chris Weidman retained his title by stopping Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort. In women’s bouts this past month, Arlene “Angerfist” Blencowe and new Deep Jewels champ “V.V” Mei Yamaguchi earned key wins that vaulted them up the rankings.
