Julia Budd Now To Face Gabrielle Holloway At Bellator 133With unbeaten Brazilian featherweight Talita “Treta” Nogueira sidelined due to a knee injury, Julia “The Jewel” Budd has received a new opponent for her upcoming Bellator 133 debut in ten days. The Canadian star is set to face Gabrielle “Gabanator” Holloway on February 13th in Fresno, California.

Bellator officials announced the change today following an initial report from MMAFighting.com. Budd has not fought since defeating upcoming Invicta FC title challenger Charmaine “Not So Sweet” Tweet in late 2013. Holloway most recently picked up a third-round TKO victory this past month.

Budd (6-2-0) has been waiting patiently to make her Bellator debut since signing with the promotion in August alongside former Strikeforce champion Marloes “Rumina” Coenen. She previously went 4-0 inside the Invicta FC cage, but opponent injuries and a series of last-minute fight changes repeatedly delayed Budd’s path to an Invicta FC title shot. The former Muay Thai standout now seeks a fresh start in her MMA career under the Bellator banner, but she once again faces a short-notice opponent switch.

Holloway (4-1-0) followed up on a 7-0 run as an amateur by winning each of her first three professional fights. The streak of victories included a decision win over current Invicta FC fighter Andria Wawro in Holloway’s August 2012 pro debut. After suffering her first loss against Latoya “Black Mamba” Walker in a Sugar Creek Showdowm women’s featherweight title fight, Holloway took a 14-month hiatus from fighting and returned with a third-round stoppage of Lacie “Vixen” Jackson on January 24th.

Bellator 133 takes place on February 13, 2015 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.
