Two of Europe’s fastest rising female stars, Pannie “Banzai” Kianzad and Agnieszka “Kuma” Niedźwiedź, will meet for the inaugural Cage Warriors Women’s Bantamweight Championship on November 15th at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 74. The card takes place in London, England.
Cage Warriors officials announced the five-round title fight today. Kianzad and Niedźwiedź are undefeated in their mixed martial arts careers and both have picked up impressive wins in recent outings. The Kianzad-Niedźwiedź winner will become the first Cage Warriors 135-pound women’s champion.
Kianzad (6-0-0) kicked off her pro MMA career in 2012 and won all three of her fights before the end of the year including a bout with fellow Cage Warriors contender Lina Akhtar Lansberg. The Swedish standout fought just once in 2013 and scored her biggest victory to date when she defeated recent UFC signee Milana Dudieva at ProFC 50. In May, Kianzad outpointed Italian contender Annalisa Bucci, and she most recently made her Cage Warriors debut one week ago. At CWFC 71, Kianzad finished Megan van Houtum in the third round of her final fight at 140 pounds. She now drops down to bantamweight.
Niedźwiedź (7-0-0) has already built up an impressive résumé in seven career fights. The 19-year-old Polish star finished her first four opponents and made her Cage Warriors debut in late 2013. She scored back-to-back wins for the promotion against Kerry “Rocksteady” Hughes and Gemma Hewitt, and her most recent victory came in June when she stopped Julia Stoliarenko at Fighters Arena 9. Niedźwiedź was called out by both Kianzad and Lansberg at CWFC 71, but Cage Warriors officials determined that it will be Kianzad who stands across from Niedźwiedź in the November title bout.
Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 74 takes place on November 15th at Copper Box Arena in London, England. The Kianzad-Niedźwiedź title bout will be contested over five rounds.
