Felice Herrig Set To Face Tecia Torres At Invicta FC 7Strawweight star Felice “Lil’ Bulldog” Herrig is set to face off against one of MMA’s brightest female prospects when she makes her Invicta FC debut at Invicta Fighting Championships 7. Herrig faces Tecia “The Tiny Tornado” Torres in a featured bout on December 7th in Kansas City, Missouri.

Invicta FC officials announced the 115-pound bout today. Herrig picked up two key victories for Bellator and she has won six of her past seven fights. Former three-time amateur champion Torres is undefeated in her MMA career and scored a big win over “Thug” Rose Namajunas at Invicta FC 6.

Herrig (9-4-0) has found great success since making the move down to 115 pounds in 2011 following a decision loss to current Invicta FC Flyweight Champion Barb “Little Warrior” Honchak. The ultra-popular Herrig is one of the strawweight division’s top female strikers and she already holds wins over three past and present Invicta FC competitors. In her most recent fight in March, Herrig scored a Split Decision win over bitter rival “Hurricane” Heather Clark at Bellator 94. She was released from Bellator when the promotion folded its women’s divisions this summer and now makes her Invicta FC debut.

Torres (3-0-0) amassed a remarkable 7-0 record as an amateur in fewer than ten months and captured three championships along the way. Having reached the top of the amateur ranks, Torres made her pro debut at Invicta FC 3 and outpointed fellow former three-time amateur champ Kaiyana Rain. She made a quick return to action and defeated “12 Gauge” Paige VanZant at Invicta FC 4 in January, but it was Torres’s most recent fight that put her on the cusp of the strawweight top ten. In July, the 24-year-old earned a Unanimous Decision win over the highly-touted Namajunas in an action-packed battle.

The strawweight division is Invicta FC’s most talent-rich weight class and the bout between Herrig and Torres is one of a group of quality 115-pound matchups on the Invicta FC 7 card. Herrig looks to take another step up towards the strawweight top three, while Torres aims to make her goal of becoming a legitimate top-ten contender a reality with her biggest win to date.

Invicta Fighting Championships 7 takes place on December 7th at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri.
