Amber Stautzenberger vs Caroline Correia Planned For GWC 2Amber “The Apex Predator” Stautzenberger will look to extend her winning streak to four when she returns to action at Global Warrior Challenge 2: “USA vs Brazil.” The strawweight rising star has agreed to face Caroline Correia on the GWC 2 card, which is targeted for November 9th in Hawaii.

MMARising.com confirmed plans for the matchup today. Stautzenberger earned her biggest win to date when she defeated Glena “Heartless” Avila in a back-and-forth bout in April. Correia picked up a submission victory in December and now looks to bounce back from her first professional defeat.

Following a successful stint as an amateur, Stautzenberger (3-1-0) began her pro career in September in a closely-contested bout with fellow prospect “12 Gauge” Paige VanZant. Stautzenberger dropped a razor-thin decision, but she has since rebounded with three straight victories this year. Stautzenberger had expected to meet Jordan Nicole “Ninja Princess” Gaza at Dakota FC 15 on April 20th. When Gaza withdrew, Stautzenberger faced late replacement Avila and prevailed via Unanimous Decision.

Her opponent, Correia (1-1-0), represents the respected Junior Aguiar Team in Brazil, which is home to many talented fighters including Kinberly Novaes and Juliana “Julie” Werner Aguiar. After competing as an amateur in MMA and kickboxing bouts, Correia made her pro MMA debut on December 15th and scored a second-round submission victory over Larissa Dias. She most recently faced highly-touted opponent Andressa “Meg” Araujo Rocha in April, but succumbed to strikes in the opening round.

Global Warrior Challenge 2: “USA vs Brazil” is targeted for November 9th at a venue to be announced in Honolulu, Hawaii.
