Kalindra Faria vs Juliana Aguiar Set For MMA Super Heroes 2MMA Super Heroes will crown its first women’s flyweight champion when rising stars Kalindra Faria and Juliana “Julie” Werner Aguiar meet at MMA Super Heroes 2 on October 12th in São Paulo, Brazil. The 125-pound championship fight was officially announced by the promotion this week.

Faria and Aguiar both earned key wins in the semi-final round of the MMA Super Heroes women’s flyweight grand prix this past month. Faria avenged a past loss by submitting Carina “Barbie” Damm early in round one. Aguiar picked up a one-sided Unanimous Decision victory over Vanessa Melo.

Faria (11-3-1) is currently riding a seven-fight winning streak that includes four stoppage victories this year. She captured her first pro title on March 10, 2012 when she defeated Aline Sério for the inaugural Pink Fight 121-pound championship, and followed that up with back-to-back wins for the newly-formed Detonic Fight promotion. On July 13th, Faria faced off against Damm in a rematch from their first fight in 2009. Faria locked on a slick armbar from the bottom for a quick tapout victory that propelled her into the October championship final.

Aguiar (6-3-0) is also in the midst of an impressive winning streak. The talented striker has won four straight bouts dating back to her last loss close to seven years ago. All three of Aguiar’s defeats have come at the hands of recent Invicta FC title challenger Vanessa Porto. Aguiar defeated Weyde Ventura on the inaugural Pink Fight card, but sat out for the remainder of 2012 before returning to action at MMA Super Heroes 1. She landed some solid ground and pound and threatened with a variety of submission attempts en route to a clear-cut decision win.

MMA Super Heroes 2 takes place on October 12th at a venue to be announced in São Paulo, Brazil.
